Even though your Girl Friend knows your a welder!!! She sees the burn and freaks out accused you of Bimbo banging !! Thinking you have a STD your at least sleeping on the couch not in the truck. Never heard how this finished.

Do enough overhead or horizontal above your head you learn to protect those parts .

 

Good thing a CNC user doesn't live near you or he/she would yell "FIX YOUR LEAD INS" from across the street

 

I may have to fill them in just so I don't wreck the tractor fixating on them while driving.

 

Interesting fork design. I haven't seen them setup like that on a tractor before.

Just looking on the Amazon link, not sure which gen model you got. You know what the CFM requirements are for that machine?

 

States (estimated) 1.6CFM but doesn't state at what pressure.

With 50 amp capability I'd say much more than that. My 60 amp requires just under 7cfm at like 80psi.

 

You and I both know 100% of people will actually miss that tiny notch.

My OCD would kick in though if it was my rig and I would've cut new pieces cause I'm weird like that

 

I saw that, that’s why I was asking him. Looks like it doesn’t like 120v either without being 30 amp or higher. Another thing that ruins people’s expectations, when they go to cut something thicker than sheet metal.

 

I've seen the 30 amp requirement on my own machine for 120 as well; as long as he doesn't push near max or hit duty cycle he should be good.

Never ran mine at 120 but I hear ya, not many people have dedicated 120's with bigger breakers. Hell I only have 2x 120 30 amp breakers in the garage.

 

My press brake users, do any of you use gooseneck dies?

I find myself sometimes wanting to bend something small and rely on relief cuts and bending by hand since the press would interfere when trying a second bend.

I got the least expensive model at $189; the pics show it is the Gen 2 version. I didn't see the point in getting the Gen 3 or Gen 7 for some push buttons. I'd rather save a few bucks on the machine so I could order some additional expendables.

My compressor is a Husky 30gal with a constant-duty 2hp motor. It's supposed to do about 6cfm at 90psi, but the Plasma's upper limit is something like 70-75psi. What the compressor is capable of at the lower psi is anybody's guess. Mine is a few years old, but it's pretty close to this current model. Husky 30 Gal. 175 PSI Oil Lubed Belt Drive Portable Vertical Electric Air Compressor C304H - The Home Depot The description said the recommended air compressor is 45L/min. Which works out to about 1.6cfm, and that seems kind of low. But I'll see what the instructions say when it gets here later in the week. I also plan to add an air dryer off the regulator, I'm not sure that will affect the flow, but everything I've seen so far is that moisture kills your consumables faster than anything else. Humidity around here has been high, averaging about 70-75% in my garage right now.

As for power, I probably won't be welding and cutting at the same time, so I plan to run it on the 220v 50amp circuit that my welder uses. One of the things I liked about this machine is it comes with a 220v cord installed and an adapter to drop down to 110v. Many of the other cheap machines on Amazon were the other way around.

Including auto factory seam sealer (grey)
Was gonna try that figure it’s better than epoxy and possibly removable

 

Liquid Nail would be one option, but that's not going to be removable!

My go to with things like that is silicone caulking cheap very easy to remove and clean up !
