The land cruiser seemed to have done a better job of integrating the screen with the dash as well. A big pet peeve of a lot of people with the new Tacoma and tundra...

 

Not necessarily, they older land cruisers were HEAVY...I'm not sure how thats going to go with the new ones.

 

I like this Land Cruiser, but you’re not getting anything close to a 200/300 series for a huge discount, as some people imply. It’s much more a spiritual successor to an XTerra for 60k. No bargains here.

But if Toyota can hold the Tacoma TRD Pro’s price to 55k, it suddenly looks like a serious bargain parked next to a base LC w cloth seats.

 

The new one is not heavy....it's 2 inches larger then the 4 runner currently

 

What is weird is every article you read or video you watch all say there is no mpg estimates out yet...

 

Have they listed the weight of the new one?

The weight comparison for the 200 and 300 series and Tacoma there is a weight difference.

Land Cruiser 300 weighs 5798.2 lbs
Land Cruiser 200 weighs 5986 lbs

Toyota Tacoma weighs 3915-4550 lbs

Thats what i thought also. They should've put the LC interior dash layout in the Taco. That would've been a nice, integrated and clean looking dash. Now put the pogo seats from the Taco into the LC, that would be a great swap.

 

Thats the Compact Cruiser EV concept but some similar styling cues.

Looks like a great vehicle to go up against the Bronco Sport.

 

And could have borrowed some of the exterior styling cues too, instead of going all in on the Transformer look.

Tacoma looks to be made for adult children who very well could be 40 year old virgins.

Land Cruiser for proper mature gentleman, who own a nice collection of Krieghoffs.

Well, Land Cruiser geeks all know that “Prado” means a watered down version of the real thing. The 200/300 isn’t it either. Still looks great and will perform well for the majority of the target market. Most will never see dirt…

 

Damn, what did I miss? I hear they turned the 'Cruiser into a turd-on-wheels.

 

Maybe 1 guy said that . Looks good to me , hasn't even been driven off road by anyone yet. And honestly it's probably as good off road as the current 4 runner.

That's a short wheel base LC, maybe it will be labeled an FJ, perhaps a 4R, It looks taller than that dorky EV cruiser. Toyota could hyped up the silhouette to make it appear tuff, it would be better if it's more FJ than PT Cruiser.

That other thing looks like a highlander or a RAV 4, might be the next 4R, I'm thinking it might share a lot with the Crown probably BEV.

 

The upper right hand corner vehicle in the shadows looks like the Toyota bZ Large SUV (bZ5X) there is also a Lexus version.

The 1958 should come with steelies. The wheels shown don't match the rest of the theme.

 

Agreed. Needs some Fifteen52 Analogs.
