PDR & Body Shop recommendations (Front Range)

The only good caliber collision is the Robb Street one next to the Brass armadillo. All the others are not worth your time.

Phil @ Parker Dent Co, off Jordan & Arapahoe, just PDR’d my truck & it came back perfectly. When I picked up my truck last Wednesday (was done in 3 days) he still had 50+ hail jobs from May 10th alone. USAA quoted me $7,800 but was closer to $9k when done + my $500.

Sorry about the Tundra, that looked like a nice truck. Wasn’t sure if this was mentioned but did you try a public adjuster? They’re pricey but well worth it!

 

If I go the public adjust route, that's a whole other game. Both State Farm and I would be required to get our own adjuster. Then we have to bring in an arbitrator. Either party can raise a flag with the others chosen adjuster and have to find a new one. But both parties have to abide by the arbitrator's decision. At least from what I've read and understand.

For now it's see what next shop does. And Nylunds will be providing an after repair inspection for free. And if it's not done right, then it goes back for more insurance fun.

 

Spoke with Prime Time Auto Body this morning. They said the truck should be towed in this week! They are waiting for State Farm to tow out two totaled vehicles to make room for my truck.

So, new lead in the hit and run. A neighbor from down the street had said at the time there was a truck he thinks was it, that only comes to the neighborhood occasionally. He just rang my doorbell and said that truck was back. I drove by to look, no visible damage but I didn't get out to check.

It's just a fleet rental truck, so probably not even the same truck, but likely the same guy. I'm wondering if I or someone knows how to look up a license plate. I'm wondering if I can find the fleet rental company and ask if they had anyone return a wrecked truck on March 23rd 2023. Long shot but it's something....

As soon as I looked at the video, I thought it looked like a shamrock food truck. But it didn’t have the logo

 

Guy in my tundra build thread correctly identified original truck as a Ford E450!

 

Looking at the vid from my pc, i think the "faded graphic" is actually thin tree limbs from the tree in my front yard. Think it's just a plain white Ford E450 box truck

 

Yea I think it’s a plain one too but I got the uncanny shamrock vibe immediately. It’s def a 450, I looked at the wheels for a bit & they seem pretty significant for the truck. They looked like little bitch wheels on that 450 & not factory

 

Finally! Truck is being towed to shop today!

Shop said truck was in the paint shop for the doors and side panels. They're still working on the bed. Said eta end of next week or two. And said the cost should be right about what insurance already adjusted for, around $15k.

KBB Instant Trade-in is at $48k, have dealers lined up asking me for it already.

 

Final update on Tundra. It was picked up from the body shop yesterday morning, and sold to Carmax yesterday evening for $46.6k Glad to be done with it!

How much does hail repair usually cost? I've been looking at a self PDR kit at Harbour freight for under $200. My project GX has plenty that need pulled out.
