I finally got the skid installed on my ‘21 Sport. Now I just need to actually go off-road somewhere. I am planning a hike of Gulf Hagas trail in Great North Woods in the next few weeks, so that will make me feel better. 20230801_074217_Original.jpg

Looks like this should be planned to wrap up soon, but check out the Facebook page for updates - it may run over. We're going up next weekend 10-14th, but not going through this at all.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm planning on going Aug. 19. (*Just checked the Facebook site and it looks like they are doing the work the weekend I'm there. I was thinking I should skip the river crossing since I'll be alone, but I either need to do that or figure out where the Hedge Hog Gate is.)

New landcruiser unveiled. I'm sort of disappointed in it and much more interested in the Lexus GX550 but pricing hasn't been announced yet.

I really want to like this. The options seem great, but I can’t get past the proportions.

Wheels and tires would make a big difference. But the bare bones is gonna start around 55k. 4runner starts at 40k and is more offroad capable I believe. I'm sure these will sell but I think they are charging too much for just a name.

yeah I agree. I’m curious to see how well they will sell. The cloth interior option is pretty sweet, but for 55k who knows.

What's everyone's go to for bearings? Timken SKF or OEM(motorcraft). This is for a ford and the rear wheel bearings (oem) lasted 100K.

I know my Timken rear wheel bearings for my Tacoma used Koyo bearings I believe which was OEM on mine. Not sure if they would still use Koyo on ford parts

:spy: just sayin' I threw out 57k starting

I don't think you'll find any under 70. You'd probably have to order the basic of the basic specifically for that.

For a Ford, I generally default to Motorcraft unless they're unavailable or stupid money. In your case, with Motorcraft being twice the price, I'd use Timken and never give it a second thought. I'd avoid Dorman and Moog. I'd also consider Auto Zone if they have Duralast parts available.
