Good morning fellow Porchatonians. This is a bad year for our garden with the cool May followed by the Canadian wildfires smoke in June. Everything is both slow to ripen and in much less quantity - still have no ripe tomatoes and only 2 or 3 zucchini so far. Blueberries are way off, too.

Seeing much the same here. We've got some nice zucchini and yellow squash, but not many. Some lettuce, strawberries soon it looks. No tomatoes yet. Odd Summer for sure. Haven't been to Copper River yet, water remains too high. Hopefully late August.

Looks good and I would have to make some salsa. I started harvesting this week with some Poblano and Jalapeno peppers. Going to pick up two Roma Tomatoes and make some salsa for myself.

Good morning. Off to the gym, music lesson and Costco today.

    Morning all:
Those are some darn good looking tomatoes there Ken, I can imagine those on a sandwich with some mayo, cheese, and salt and pepper, also some fresh garden lettuce if available! :hungry:

Amazing at how the prices in California increased Ken. I just looked up the house we ssold 22 years ago for $267,000 and it's appraised value is only $480,000. Not to much of an increase. My parents house that was built in 1949 was a 4 bedroom, one bath with a full basement Cape Cod is appraised at $745,000. It is only listed as 1000 sqft. It is in New York City. Prices are crazy.

Morning Sue, I agree with your BLT!!!!. A good tomato makes the sandwich . Another favorite is a grilled tomato and cheese sandwich with a bowl of tomato soup on a chilly day .

How are your bees doing with the heat and smoke from Canada Mark? I imagine all the issues can affect them as well as it does us.

    Afternoon all:

:yay:Now I can work on the furnace! Called again today and talked to the owner, they didn't return my call because their messaging service isn't working, found out that the insert is still available. Also asked about a retrofit burner, $500 some odd dollars and a few bucks more for odds and ends, not too bad if I decide/need to go that route eventually.

They seem to be OK. Both hives are new so we'll see how they produce this fall.

Evening all. Cleaning day, so no specific work. Having a private ceremony on Saturday for a member sadly "gone West". Won't be open to the public. There was a NEW T-6 outside. Very nice. CAF member owned, here for his CAF certs, which have to be in a CAF plane. So, he and another pilot took ours out. Went to the far runway, so no "action" shots.

Yellow Rose B-25 also got a carb and RPM test while out. I have a video of the smoke oil test, but I have to make it YouTube to show here. So, static shot!

While things were out, floor got the walking water Zamboni treatment, and all looks nice.

I can see a little glow through the trees, but I have to be in a certain spot in my yard to see the moon.... my trees block it most of the time.
