Wonder why that is? Higher altitudes, closer to sun/less “filtering”. Isn’t the chance for skin sunburn more at higher altitudes? Interesting.

Clearly it’s made for off roading on golf courses. Or, the ad company air lifted it in for the photo shoot.

Higher altitude should increase output. I would guess it’s more heat related than anything. The hotter things get the less efficient they are. My house solar does best in April, May, September and October than it does in the heat and long days of summer.

edit: also make sure you clean it frequently. I’m sure it gets dirty fast sitting in the hood.

A lot of guys on the Colorado forums took them off. Seems the only ones that came without it was the ZR2. I used it mostly road use so it didn’t bother me. But I agree that 24’ taco dam looks fake.

I ended up going with the chalk bag "mod" to fit our camelbak or nalgenes.

    Chalk bag "mod"

Simple and "cheap" but I definitely will try to wrap that chrome piece or paint it. I am worried about it coming off but if it removes easily it wouldn't be a big deal to paint once a year or so. May be worth spraying with clear too. Good luck!

Woah, sick bumper...Moral of the story drive a lifted Toyota with a steel front bumper. Pays for its self when you need it. Also dont brake check people, doesnt work out like how you think it will...

What a bummer. You get ticketed at fault on this one? It won’t be paying for itself in that case.

    I hate people.

That is what I was thinking. Then still painting over top, so when it chips I don't see chrome underneath.

They're definitely useful. Realistically only accurate to +/- 10% depending on brand but generally you'd use the one just under your torque expectation to get it most of the way there, then finish it off with a proper torque wrench.

I would make it a point not to make comments about women like that again on here. I've seen plenty of guys that do dumb shit on here....

You're a fine example of said "stupid shit."

No Ticket, State Trooper (Female) was fairly unbiased and professional. The person I hit was a younger female so I was worried when I saw the Trooper pull up...

Context: We were both in the passing lane on a 2 lane highway that is usually fairly congested at this time (4PM) but that day it was lighter traffic for that time of day. She was in front of me for a few miles but I kept a good normal driving distance from her and we were just cruising along nicely with everyone else. We came up to pretty much stand still traffic in our lane, I noticed no one was in the right lane either behind me or in front for maybe a quarter mile. Free lane I thought so I switched lanes to keep on cruising, well it seemed like she had the same idea and switched lanes just as i was getting close to passing her. My front bumper was probably even with her rear when she started to switch lanes, cutting me off. Im annoyed obviously and gave her a couple honks naturally (probably a mistake as the trooper saw that as road rage, ok fine). Im not a road rage guy so I didnt see it that way, I was just letting her know that I'm right there and she didnt see me. I dont know why but I'm pretty sure she then decided to brake check me? I assume because I wasn't really paying attention to what was in front of her, maybe someone cut her off as well. Still filling out paperwork as this happened yesterday at 4PM. Insurance will probably find me at fault which sucks but whatever, I'm just glad my truck wasnt damaged at all. Got home and did some inspection and everything was perfect, the bumper is only 1/8th inch steel but it didnt bend AT ALL. Only happened at maybe 25 mph as I said we were coming up to almost stand still traffic and we were slowing down so that helped a lot I guess.

Well, that sucks, but glad you’re okay (and the Taco too). Won’t go into details but I’ve installed dash cams in all of our vehicles for years now. Totally worth it.

No cam unfortunately...definitely looking at some right now. Although I dont think it would have helped me in this situation. See my previous reply to another member for context and decide if it would have been beneficial in my circumstance. :notsure:
