I have a 2019 Trd sport It did not come with the rear engine skid plate. I was wanting to install the OEM skid plate and I tried to look up marketplace but it won’t let me reply cause I have less than 50 messages. Does anyone know if the bolt holes provisions are there on the sport model to install the rear OEM off-road skid plate? Are there just four bolts that mount it in place or are there other crossmember is required to mount it under the truck? I don’t really need the TRD aluminum skid plate that’s overkill for my truck.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Jeff

AFAIK, the rear sheet metal splash guard that comes on the the off-road fits all the trims. I would not pay a dime for one. I can bend it with my hands. If you live near Minneapolis I’ll give you mine as it is just junk taking up space in my garage.

Thanks for the offer and the advice on the skid plate, I live in California, so that’s not gonna be an option… Lol I was just looking for something to cover up the oil pan as it looks like it’s just pretty exposed under the truck

Redneck, I saw those, but I couldn’t reply because I didn’t have enough messages on the forum. I was wondering if the cross braces go under the front skid plate or the rear skid plate or, both plates, attach to the crossmembers.

You already have the braces. They need to be removed to install most aftermarket skid plates. The Toyota TRD skid plate is an exception. It comes with spacers to allow it to clear the frame braces.

I just took mine off for a full skid package from RCI. It's literally the shittiest metal I've ever seen on a Toyota, actual soda-can tier. I had to bend one corner back to its original position to access one of the bolts, because it was totally mangled just from sliding over some hard-packed sand. It's not worth the time and effort, get a real skid plate if you think you need one - a basic high-school fab shop can come up with something much better.

Interested as well. Looking to install the rear skid on my SR for more before I can buy a real skid plate.

Oh. It would probably be cheaper to get a aftermarket TRD one there in your area than having one of these shipped to you from California!

Just a pro tip, you can send members private messages directly. Also keeps personal info out of the thread if you do end up coordinating buying.

Yes! I found one pretty cheap with the bolts as well. The only thing that I’m not sure, just like OP, is if I need anything else besides the 4 bolts to mount on the SR or if the OR has something else that allows it to mount them.

I think the original is less than 1/16th inch sheet metal. I'm sure they are their for their aerodynamic effect and the fact that they weigh next to nothing compared to anything you might replace them with. Of course the big advantage of the real skid is that there is a removable door to get at your oil filter without having to remove the whole sheet metal piece. I installed the TRD skid the weekend before last - pretty easy using a floor jack to lift it into place and put the sheet metal pieces in recycling. I would have given them to anyone who wanted them but it's too late now.

Just installed the OR skids on my SR and can confirm they fit.
