Has anybody shot shotgun shells from Fiocchi? Skagit Arms has a ton of it right now at some decent prices. I was going to snag a bunch for the range and s&g's. 12 gauge, 2.75 length and 00.


Edit: Ammo.com has it for a little more than half as much as Skagit, so likely scooping a bunch there. Still going to grab some from Skagit as I like to get some money in the local spots.

Ya, it didn't work great in my ks7. Lots of light strike issues. Haven't had that issue with any other ammo. But it didn't work 100% of the time in my reimington either.

 

tomorrow morning. I need someone to keep me to my word so I don't sleep in. I have a neighbor that wants to go as well.

 

I'll bring at least 4 steel targets and a number of cardboard silhouette targets and a shot timer. First thing I need to do though is sight in a thermal on a 20" AR and get it ready for coyote hunting. So I'll have a shooting bench and sand bags.

I had a BCM BCG break on me yesterday. Both gas key screws sheared off. Less than 1k rounds on the upper.

Then, because of new laws BCM can't service and ship back to me. Nor can they send me a new one. This sucks.

 

That sucks. The spare parts of that law is insane. Really stuck it to people stacking rainy day receivers for the event of a ban.

 

BCM is sending a shipping label and taking the BCG back and then sending me a reimbursement check. I think their BCG's are $380 too. Sheesh. I'll order a new one when I move out of state.

I'm wondering what parts we can and can't buy. I ordered an AR spare parts kit today and it went through. I put a barrel in a shopping cart and it let me go all the way to the last step of the check out. Other things of course are immediately shut down by the website when you try to check out. Right when you get to shipping address.

 

It's all hit and miss depending on who are buying from. For what it's worth though, I just got to the final buy now button with a Toolcraft bcg from PSA so it might be worth it to snag something that can get you functional.

Do you all have handgun recommendations for a complete newbie to guns? I'm going to help a buddy of mine get into shooting and he wants to start off with something manageable and easy to use. Range shooting, outdoor shooting, and some HD if need be.

I already have a few classes for him to take. I'm more versed on shotguns (barely) so any help is appreciated!

 

I’d say:

- have him research what he wants to do: Conceal carry? Plinking? Competition?
- See if any ranges locally have rentals to try out. I know Rain City Tactical has guns at their range to rent while there, and see what works for him
- It’s all personal choice ultimately. I personally like Glocks, because I like the trigger pull, familiarity, and amount of mods available. Though I’m tempted about getting a J-frame revolver because I’d like something a tiny bit smaller than my Glock 43X, and the fact my grandfather had one.

I like the rental/range idea! I'll have to take him with me, most don't allow rentals unless you have your own gun.

 

@manapiko if your curious, there’s a upcoming range day put on by discovery_daddies on instragram Aug 19th (training day) and Aug 20th (open range day). Might give you and your friend some ideas.
