I think I like the look of the new GX over the new Land Cruiser. Interior looks very similar though.

Toyota going all in with that 2.4 turbo hybrid. I like this redesign, it looks more old school than the previous gen LC.

Gives me hope that the 2.4L turbo hybrid might actually last awhile in the Taco with it being in the LandCruiser also. LOL

Still don't know if the LC would be better then Bronco or Wrangler. $55k with cloth seats and hard plastic interior, hard to justify this for alot of people besides hard core LC fans.

This should give people faith in the 2.4. Can you imagine if Landcruisers started blowing up prematurely? Toyota can't afford that bad PR.

A Land Cruiser that isn't a luxury SUV for oil princes? Nice.

    The grille looks awful though.

First i love this and it’s absolutely a contender for me over the Tacoma. Would have bought a 4Runner over my Pilot in 2020 but it felt dated and small, the ~comparable 4R limited with full time AWD was $12k more, and the driving experience was too close to my Tacoma, ie poorly mannered on the highway and road trips.

Super excited there’s an off road BOF Toyota suv a bit larger than the 4R that doesn’t cost 70-90k.

I know the car market is mostly back to SUVs, trucks and crossovers, but man even within Toyotas ecosystem there seems to be so many option coming out that 1-2 of these are going to get sales cannibalized. I imagine there’s at least some crossover between the Tacoma/4Runner/LC buyer, not to mention the RAV4/Highlander, and even the Tundra. Hopefully all these options meter/spread demand and make test driving different cars to find the best fit a reality again. Instead of everyone clustering to 1-2 models.

Mr. T has a lot of SUV's to select from now, Highlander, Grand Highlander, 4runner, Seqouia, New LC. Someone has to be able to find something in that lineup to meet their needs SUV wise.

Agree especially after these are all refreshed. Just couldn’t spend 51k on a 4Runner in late 2020 knowing it has the same motor/trans as my 2G Tacoma. And despite my gravitation to the Toyota truck platform, it was obviously the wrong vehicle for my needs - a semi luxury, full time AWD, 3rd row, comfortable family/dog hauler to my cabin and a road tripper. And the Highlander hybrid gave me PTSD from when I owned a Prius V.

I agree its a lazy attempt in my opinion, sure new is exciting but once you look at its just a bunch of plastic and new screens

The 1958 edition doesn't even have power seats LOL. The new Tacoma will be more luxurious than a base LC.

Base LC has heated seats and steering wheel though. But I think less “luxurious” is partly the point of the 1958.

The 80 series is right the other is actually based on the 1958 Land Cruiser not the 70 series. Thus the 1958 Heritage edition.

Love that they did that, to me it is a nod to the wire mesh on the 40s.
