So called "Unicorn" is this price unjustifiable?

    Hey all,
I've been a Toyota customer since I was 16 and have had a gen 2 4runner since then. I'm looking at Tacoma's now and have stumbled across something that the seller describes as a "Unicorn". I'm not incredibly familiar with Tacoma's and the market they exist in so I was wondering if you guys could help me out here... Here's the breakdown of it:

    2008 Tacoma Regular Cab
    4Cyl 2.7L
    Manual 5 speed with overdrive
    4WD
    141,000 miles on the odo
    Seller is asking $19,995

The seller is claiming that due to it being a manual, 4 Cyl, and a Regular cab that this specific truck is extremely hard to find. I'm not so sure if I want to believe him considering I can find other similar (not exact) spec Tacoma's for 15k or less. Is this just a business tactic to make me jump the gun because I heard Unicorn, or does this truck legitimately justify its steep price tag. Photos below. Thanks!00i0i_kdhtbrh7WQt_0ak07K_600x450.jpg

Those trucks are certainly less common, maybe Unicorn is a good word to describe it. But there is a reason not as many were made. I'd pass. The 4 cyl doesn't get enough better fuel economy over the V6 to justify the loss of performance and I'm not interested in a regular cab or a manual.

99% sure that that shell isn't for a regular cab. Check for contact between the rear of the cab and the front of the shell.

I wouldn't call it a unicorn, but I would say it's not a common as other Tacoma configurations. It being a reg cab with a manual AND 4WD is what makes it a baby unicorn . A car or truck is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

Not a common configuration and not worth what he wants.
It's still just a 15 year old regular cab.

It's a matter of what it's worth to you, regardless of what the seller tells you. Perhaps most people won't pay that price, but maybe you've been looking for one for years and this is it.

Personally I wouldn't pay it. I'd just go for a V6 because mileage isn't much different and power.

Mine's a 2012 regular cab, 4WD, Manual, 2.7, 120,000 miles when I bought it 2 years ago (Spring of 2021) for 12,500. OH...and I bought it south of the Mason/Dixon line and the frame is pristine. It's even rarer than a unicorn...like a unicorn without a horn, if you can imagine such a thing.
