I ended up going with the black side wall versions and they're from Japan. Very nice tires/good quality.

@monty186 Toyo shows an article number for that product. That's a good sign there may be inventory available. DM coming your way.

Well, I go to my local tire dealer to have a lawnmower tire mounted and left with a set in 265/75-16 116T. They were sitting by the back door to be shipped back (wrong order). Guy made me a deal I couldn't refuse. Hate when that happens.... I had just put a new set of Wildpeaks on back in Dec. but have had my eyes on the Toyo's for a while. Nothing wrong with the WP's. Hopefully these will last a while.
Edit: One thing I have noticed is they are much louder than the Wildpeaks. Strange is the WP's were loud on cornering but quiet on the straights. These are just the opposite.

I went from the ATII's to the ATIII's and find them quieter. Only been 500 miles so they haven't been through a lot yet.

The tires were the last piece of the puzzle that I needed to put my lift on.

Shout out to @Discount Tire for getting these tires in to the store the same day I made the order. Everyone I worked with did a great job of getting me taken care of.

It came down to two sizes 285/70/17 vs 285/75/17, and three tire options. Falken Wildpeak, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss, and Toyo AT3. I wanted an AT with a good reputation and snow rated. The MT Baja Boss skip the 34” size and were a good bit heavier than everything else. It didn’t look like Discount Tire was going to be able to get the Falkens in the 34” option. The Toyos were pretty much the same price comparing 33 to 34. It then just came down to a 33” Wildpeak vs a 34” Toyo AT3. It’s a minor thing, but I was initially put off by the subtle design of the AT3 sidewalls. The E rated LT versions look better in person.IMG_1885.jpg IMG_1890.jpg IMG_1886.jpg IMG_1893.jpg IMG_1838.jpg IMG_1899.jpg

I went with 285/75/17 Toyo AT3 tires in the E rating with the SCS F5 17 x 8.5 -10mm offset. These are very close in actual height compared to my 315/75/16 on my 3rd gen 4Runner wtih F5 in 16 x 8” wheels.

First impression: I like them. Even in E load, they do a good job at soaking up the road. I also have to say that I have added Bilstein 6120/5160s with 650# coils and Icon RXT set at stage 3.

I haven’t had an opportunity to take them off road yet. They are not loud, but they are not quite. They are not MT loud. But they seem to have a higher pitch hum that goes away if you turn on the stereo. I have some previous experience with a few sets of BFG KO2’s. I feel like the KO2’s might have been quieter, but I don’t trust KO2’s in the snow and lots of the rain here in the PNW. So I’m trying something new this go around. We’ll see how it goes.

I was leaning hard on those F5's but got tired of the back order - went with METHOD MR701 ... the AT3 is a nice tire. Your set up looks great.

Thanks for the kind words. I knew that it would be a PITA to wait for some F5's, but this was going to be a slow build and I had time to play the SCS lottery for a while. I've been sitting on most of the suspension parts since last November. Hahaha. It was a pretty hum drum build for a while. It was CMC, slider, exhaust reroute, canopy, tire selection, and then the rest came together over the weekend. I'm digging the transformation, but my bank account isn't. I wish tires didn't cost so dang much. I almost got the same Method 701's too. Those are super clean looking and Method's been doing a good job putting out some great looking wheels. I would have been happy with those too.

Hey man. It's been awhile. Good to see your still in a Yota.

As far as the AT 3 goes. I put them on my wife's 2009 4Runner over a years ago. Really solid off-road but they excel in the snow. Like I drove to Mammoth every day all winter and never had a problem. We have about 18K on them and they are wearing very well. I expect at least another 30K from them.

Hey! What's up man? It has been a while. Life got pretty busy there for a minute. How you been? Still have your 3rd gen 4Runner? I still have my replacement 3rd gen that replaced the one I flopped on an icy mountain.. For now. Hahaha. Good to hear about the tires. I did a lot of reading before choosing these. This has only been the second day driving around on pavement and I am digging them. They are pretty light compared to other options and they are taming our crappy Washington roads okay. The suspension helps a bit too I guess, but I am glad to hear they do well in snow. That was a big factor in going with these. I was initially looking at the Yoko Geolander G003's but this vehicle will be doing light off road for now and is my DD. I just want a bit more confidence in the winter vs an MT. I am glad they sound like they are wearing well too.

Life is always busy. I'm doing well. The 4Runner went to @JTFisherman He's since done a lot of stuff too it and has managed to keep the tradition of breaking it monthly alive. I'm still saving up some cash for the next build. It ain't gonna be cheap. lol

Here's a link to his thread. It's worth a read.

Good Lort.. Haha.. Man! That thing has taken on a life of its own. That suspension work is pretty crazy.

Glad you are still doing well and out there enjoying the world man. I am interested in your next build for sure.
