So called "Unicorn" is this price unjustifiable?

So, it would be 6A instead of 5M, but you can get a brand new, 2023 SR 4x4 for 30k MSRP (before deliveries). It's not a regular cab, sure, but, hey, brand new (same) engine.

Is 15 years and 150k worth only paying 10 grand less? In my mind, heck no.

It would be a unicorn if it had less than 1,000 miles on it and was absolutely mint/garaged.

At 141K in that configuration it's slightly uncommon but not worth more than ?? maybe 9-11K.

There are words to describe things and regarding that unicorn is not the word.
Unicorn describes things good for all people.
    Audi B6 A4
    1.8T
    Avant wagon
USP ultrasport package with the bumpers, door blades, interior, sport suspension, strut brace
    6spd manual Quattro AWD
Is commonly called unicorn. Because that’s what it is.
A rare good higher level all around package that most other A4’s did not come with.

that engine sucks. trans has 5 gears instead of 6. Suspension possibly even different.

4x4. V6. Double cab manual or access cab for longer bed. Year and package of your choice. Done.

my truck, with these things, at a lower mileage from a dealer (who’s known to cost more than private party) cost less.

finding a dirty needle outside is also rare. Does not make it good.

if it was so unicorny he wouldn’t be selling it because the engine couldn’t climb the driveway.

bench seats instead of common sporty bolstered seats, ugly paint, and ugly wheels. Neglected brake fluid. What a deal.

I drive a 2007 Reg Cab, 4 cyl, 4WD, 5-spd manual. I love it, and I hope it is the last truck I need to buy (I'm old enough to where that is a distinct possibility). It has 110,000 miles on it, a lot of 'em dirt roads. Mine is not in as good cosmetic shape as the one OP is looking at, but is mechanically very good. New frame in 2018.

All this to say, it's not worth $20K. More like $10K, I reckon, at this point. But it's not for sale. Well... I'd take $20K for it :p

It’s not a unicorn it’s just an older mass produced midsize pickup. Unless you really really want it and I’m not sure why you would it’s not worth the asking price.

A friend sold a 2014 regular cab, 4x4 manual base model with a Go Fast Camper for $30k about a month ago. Similar mileage.

the price is what the market will bear.

What everyone else said... However, if you are willing to pay $20k for it, hit me up. I have some other rare stuff that might interest you. Honda mower that is being discontinued. $3500 firm, I know what I have. Some vintage Levis I broke in myself, $225. An expired coupon for a $5 dollar foot long that Subway might honor. $5.

With a 5speed you’re gonna get better gas mileage than an auto will. If power is an issue, supercharger is an answer. It’s only worth 20k if it’s 1 owner, well kept, no rust, under 100k and no accidents in my opinion …. Oh and definitely with auto doors, windows and buckets!

That one if it’s one owner and no rust or accidents, I’d pay 13k if it was cash… finance is another story

it takes two to tango. Voting is with your dollar. Buying is supporting.

except in this case. The 2.7 won’t sell.

I regularly see 4.0’s for better price.
2.7 I wouldn’t buy for $0. You could give me one as a raffle win id list it for sale that day.
    4.0 doesn’t have enough power.
Doesn’t sound very good to be subtracting liters Hp and tq from that.

it’s almost like 2.7’s were mostly rwd bought for landscaping and pest control while everyone else got 4.0’s.

Very overpriced for that truck and that many miles, should be 10-14k max. Unicorn no, uncommon yes. When I think unicorn it's an 85 4runner or a 90 2 door 4runner

It’s 1,000 more than new with a mismatched cap and half its life used up. It’s not even worth considering. 38951390-9C43-4BA9-9B94-0B855354E79C.jpg

OP, are you on the younger end of the age spectrum? Not judging at all if you are but my fear is that the seller is trying to take advantage of you by calling it a unicorn. Sellers thoughts are they can convince you it's a rare truck and get you emotionally invested in the truck at a cost.

There's a lot of smart and experienced people on this forum, definitely take what they say into consideration.

I'm worried about the 2.7 haters on this thread.

If your truck won't leave a stop sign fast enough, maybe you should put your girlfriend on a diet?

    Just sayin'
