    Hey all,

I unfortunately need to sell my truck due surgery costs coming up.
    I have a 22' Tacoma TRD-OFF ROAD, 16k miles, Lunar Rock
2" Bilstein 6112/5160 suspension set up
    703 method wheels

What would the average price be to sell as private seller?

Is it a base? LED? advanced or tech?

I think you can ask $40 but don't be surprised when the offer is $37,500.

That is private. Used cars are going down fast.

Ah gotcha. Dealers around me are selling tacomas for 44k for the same trim. Thats why I was asking. I was going to sell it for 41k-42k.

Definitely won't hurt to start there but don't be upset if you settle on a much lower number. Keep in mind dealers can sell certified with a much longer warranty than your transferrable new vehicle warranty.

These dealers selling for 44k bought them for under 40k. Guaranteed.

A very quick and easy Google search and some basic data points put in results in: KBB says $40k-$43k. Aftermarket modifications (like tires and suspension) do not add value and may even subtract from it. YMMV.

I got a $41k trade in offer on mine at a Ford dealer a few weeks ago with 16k miles same setup as yours but PPF, ceramic coating and Volk wheels. I think you could easily ask and expect around $40-42k, if its a premium and tech packaged truck with LEDs. Those are $44-46k new and still not heavily discounted or available on lots. If its not I'd say $38-39k or so.

I think you get 40k private, the psychological factor of an even 40k is in play, maybe ends up 39.5 and the buyers thinks they scored a win saving an extra 500 and coming in under 40.

    Would sell fast.

Also, sell the wheels separately recoup a bit more. Wont affect sale price most likely.

OP asked for “average price” not best price.

If you can, wait another month or so. There will be a 1-2 month period where no Tacoma's are being made while the factory retools to produce the 4th Gen. And after that people will still be skeptical of the new truck. Prices on the previous gen Tundra went up after production stopped.

The other factor is where you're located and how many miles are on the truck.
