Hello everyone. I have a 2020 SR, 4cyl Access cab with a solid, one piece rear window. I'd like to replace it with a manual sliding rear window and was wondering if this is the correct part number: 64810-04111

I have gotten different numbers from multiple dealerships and want to make sure I order the correct window.

    Appreciate any info!

Got a quote to replace my solid rear glass with an aftermarket slider--$820.00 + tax. That seem fair or high?

A quick search shows the listed Toyota part number selling for around 620.00, adding in labor to remove the old Window and install the new one would put you at about the same cost as you were quoted depending on the shop's labor rate. I would just go with the OEM version at that cost.

Providing the solid window isn't damaged I would ask for it back and sell it so you can offset some of the cost.

I would pass. You probably won't use it often, esp. since it will be manual open/close.
Mine is power and I don't ever use it LOL

this! That little square isn’t worth the trouble. Really it’s kind of dumb. Also I don’t use it to load long items, don’t need damage to seals or interior parts.

If you’re dead set on this, I’d call local glass shops, they maybe have aftermarket glass and be more competitive on labor since it’s right in their wheelhouse.

my step father did glass work for many many years and now that he's semi retired he does it on the side for xtra $$$.... any way he says that putting a new sliding glass window is prone to leakage and a PITA. FWIW I have an after market one just sitting in the box.... that I never put in.... I doubt I would have used it even if it were installed. It's to far from the driver to reach with any level of comfort....

Yeah, I can hear my late father saying, 'You're gonna get leaks!' Thanks to all for the input.

I use my slider all of the time. It really helps eliminate the air pressure waves while driving with the front windows down.
I've never had a slider leak in any of the trucks I've owned. It's also handy has a pass-through for those longer pieces of lumber or pipe I pick up from the hardware stores. Oh, and the dogs love it.

tl;dr: Access cab. Slider used constantly. Have long monkey arms, so it's easy for me to reach.

NP, BTW he has a Tacoma (his 3rd I believe) and always has had the sliding back window if memory serves me. He said he rarely if ever uses it.

If I ever put a shell over the bed and use mine as a Mini/stealth Camper, I think I may like to have the slider so I could access the cab for whatever reason but that's the only instance I can think of....

I have a 2012 Tacoma DCSB and have opened the back glass one time in 11 years of owning the truck. I have a new 2023 Tacoma DCSB and prolly won't ever open it either. I actually wouldn't mind replacing it with a solid rear window to ease in cleaning..... It's a pain in the ass cleaning the sliding pane & applying Rain-X without having the corners looking shitty.

I am leaning towards spending my money on keyless entry if I can find a simple solution. That's one thing I do miss from other vehicles I've owned.

Yes, I was curious about the ease of installation but if it's plug and play, I may be sold. Thanks!

I have been debating this as well. If I found a used one at the right price I might give it a go. But, not at $800 ish dollars. If I accidentally broke it I would definitely replace it with a slider.

So, with this remote, you can choose to just unlock the doors and not use the remote start? I don't really see myself using the remote start feature but time will tell.

Yes, just be sure you get one that does both. Some of the add on systems only do remote start.
