5100s are a huge upgrade over stock. I was contemplating between setting 1.1 or .65 but happy with .65. It rides smoother, less body roll in the corners and it soaks up the bumps better. I marked my lca cams before installing and set them back at the same spot. It drives straight as an arrow no pulling. I will get an alignment this week but I don’t think the angles changed much with the small lift. Considering the shocks are like $100 a side it’s a no brainer upgrade. I also did the ecgs bushing on the drivers side while I was in there. I don’t think I would have had an issue only raising it .65 but did not want to take a chances. The shocks in the rear were an upgrade but not as much as the fronts

Did you set the rear shocks at the stock/0 lift setting? Or you have an AAL or a block back there? What's the rake like with the fronts at the .65 setting?
I'm looking to go with 5100s front and back very soon but want to keep the ride height more or less tock (don't need a lift) and I'm wondering if folks ever do 0 lift clip in the rear and .65 in front?

Just rear shocks won’t add any lift in the rear there is no clip setting. So adding shocks in the rear will keep the same height just help the ride. it really depends on your setup and how much you keep in the back and or have a topper. The stock leafs in these 3rd gens are crap. Here’s a picture when I put on the topper totally stock front and rear suspension I lost all my rake and was a hair lower than the front. I then added just a 1.25” rear block for the time being. Top picture is all stock suspension with the topper. Bottom is the same just with a 1.25” block in the rear. I now have icon leaf packs on stage 2 with bilstein 5215’s. I would have went 5100s but they have two different sizes they would have been either too short or too much travel so the 5125s were the happy medium in between. I didint want too much travel and have to add longer brake lines in the rear. If you really don’t plan on keeping weight in the rear and want to change the shocks and have a slight lift. I’d do 5100’s all around .65 in the front and a 1” tapered block with longer u bolts in the rear super simple. I keep the topper and some tools in the back my guess is about 400lbs in the bed at all time including the weight of the topper so I chose to swap the leaf packs and be done with it. With that same amount of weight on stock leafs I was almost on the bump stops so I was not messing with an aal and a year or two later have the sag come back. The rear now is a slightly higher than I want it but I think if I did stage 1 setting for the icon rear leafs it wouldnt have been enough. I have only had the new leafs on for about 7 months and 5k so I am hoping they will still settle another 1/2-3/4”

I wish I held out to get a silver or mgm truck, however color aside this thing is like a swiss army knife and I really couldn't picture driving anything else (aside from another Gen 1).

Your truck looks awesome. I'm thinking I will get a topper at some point along with a small pop up camper. I figure once my youngest son is done with school in 4 years my wife and I will go camping more. A topper will be necessary to lock stuff up and keep it dry.

I really wanted silver, but the mgm came in first. My old F250 was black, said never again! Though mgm isn’t much better. Another regret is I should have gotten a higher rise topper since I camp out of it. Little camp trailer cures that though.

Use the heck of this truck, true Swiss Army Knife.

Thought so bummer would have been a good swap. I like midrise just camp less than I thought I would which was the main reason for mid rise and screened windoors. I don’t use the screen portion much but every shell in my mind should have windoors. Even when I’m not camping the mid rise is nice for hauling crap

Yeah it would have! Oh well…

Bought my used, just finding a topper was a feat within itself…and in a matching color with windoors, darn near impossible. Happy with it but would be nice to have a little more headroom. Thought about getting a GFC, but think a trailer would be better, since I had a Wildernest on my 1st Gen, every time I set it up, would want to run somewhere. I don’t camp to camp, we are there to ride bikes, hike, kayak, fish etc. have a hard time sitting still.

This is the first shell with windoors, can’t live without them now.

Had some major house repairs, put a new engine in my 1st Gen, plus started another side business, trailer is on the back burner for now. Only do 3, week long camp trips a year, so not a huge deal.

Ah ok. With my 6' bed I think the 10 footer would be doable without a dedicated rack.
