Okay...but something I actually did recently, relocated recovery boards to the side of the rack. Yeah, not Maxtrax but they'll do the trick in a sticky situation if needed. :D

Went down that road, but for a very short period of time after some more due diligence here and elsewhere. @chuam is talking an actual performance tune which is wholly different than a "tune up". Slow response, gear hunting and a number of other annoying habits our trucks have are basically erased with a performance tune. Two major players are KDMax and Overland Torque Tune (OTT).

Within a couple of days of buying our Taco I was ready to return it to the dealer for another Tundra. I did my research took a chance and ended up with a performance tune from the local OTT rep. Best money I've spent (and I've spent a bit) on our Taco. My truck literally came alive and began running like I'd expected it to from the factory. Night and day difference. It'll cost a little more than one of the little plugins like Pedal Commander, but there really is no comparison.

Before you spend your hard-earned money, do your homework. I'm betting you'll join a LOT of folks here by getting a performance tune. You'll wish you had done it sooner. :burnrubber:

The earlier versions of ecu firmware were abysmal. I’d be very interested in the results of a blind test between a tune and a
firmware update, on pre ‘20 trucks, where everyone thought they got a tune

Added these predator steps today. Rough Country SR2 Adjustable steps. I like how they are adjustable. Also the steps are not very sharp/abrasive but appear to have enough texture. This is nice for the kids who often will put their shins/knees down getting in. Will see how they work when wet though.

Nope. Please explain. I'm a little slow, lost a lot of brain cells in college.

    Installed bed supports:

And added supplemental squid launchers while the tail lights were out.

The TC supports are by far the best stiffeners if you have any weight on the bed

I’ve had Toyo AT2’s on 3 different trucks and the 3’s will be my next set once I find the right wheels I want. One thing the AT2’s had was the “Extreme” edition on the E rated tires that had wider scallops and taller tread blocks. These extremes were recommended for 35’s and up.
I have a Super Duty with the E rated Extremes. They’re great in the snow and ice and sure footed on wet roads which is a must here in Western WA. I’m anxious to try out the 3’s on my little taco but I’m going to go a lower rating being mostly a commuter rig. Thanks for the write up

Another ignorant question. What’s with the bed stiffeners? Off roading?

Just good insurance if you have an RTT, or like myself, truss rack, cap rack, gas, tools, mounts an two kayaks.
When I put mine on, I found my pass bed side was off square by a surprising amount. The stiffener did pull it back in line to 90deg.

    A bunch of shit...
Still have same number. The two in front now fit larger cups. I had to use an insert to allow me to hold coffee cups or my Nalgene. Now I can just drop them in. Super easy and inexpensive for the added benefit.
