forreallsss??? hmmm that's definitely something that i'd have to think about hahaha. it's hard for me to give that up after having it too

the stuff my truck needs is:
    tires soon
thinking about taking all of the cb stuff and bed lights off so i can get a tonneau cover- which means i'd also need a tailgate lock
redo suspension (more of a want than a need)
    upgrade roof rack
still gotta figure out the radio situation

Most of this would still have to be done regardless of if you keep the truck or not too, I still think you'd come out way ahead by just overhauling your current setup

    Sawzall :spy:

Was fresh in my head from like 20 years ago when Johnny Knoxville cut a hole in Bam's Lambo for a "sunroof", couldn't find the video though.

I did look at the cab of the 4th gen with that in mind actually, since i just dropped a HAM radio in mine, and it looks even worse for doing it "sleek" than a turd gen :(

Meh, wait a couple months, test drive a 4th, test drive a 3rd, then decide :notsure: If it's going to be driven a lot, send it. If you're going to leave it and use it for another 40k over the next 8, just keep yours

The smart key thing is nice. I very much appreciate it as a creature comfort.

I'm not interested in the 4th gen since they won't have a manual pro, but it does look nice

    > Also, if you want the six-speed manual, you'll have to be okay with Toyota's midgrade i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbo I-4 gas engine. The available hybridized version of this same engine (which puts out 326 hp), is automatic-only. Ditto the lower-spec i-FORCE I-4, which delivers less output and is limited to the lowliest Tacoma SR extended-cab models.

    > So, to recap which, 2024 Toyota Tacoma trims come with the six-speed gearbox?

    • SR (Double Cab only)
    • TRD Sport (Double Cab only)
    • TRD Off-Road (Double Cab only)

Honestly the Pro vs. OR, the 4th gen might have a bigger gap, but in the turd gen it's pretty much the skewp and some color options, you can up-trim the Offroad to be pretty much the same as the Pro, without the "pro" accoutrements. But I don't know, I'm not interested in the Pro or 4th gen

Never had heated seats before my current Stupid Duty and I can't go back. $600 and a day of labor and I went from crappy cloth seats to heated leather seats, one of the best mods I've done. It can be done cheaper by re-using the stock cloth but you'd spend a hell of a lot more time getting the old covers off for re-use rather than just cutting them off and tossing them in a bin.

I've been thinking more and more of a flat bed lately, not for any reason in particular, but I do like the look. DCLB-flat bed...

They make slip-over seat covers too, I've considered it here and there. You just slip it over your seat without doing anything else. Also seen ones that replace the seat covers too. For that much effort I'd buy it up front  I might just get a heated seat cover for mine.

My only other color I'd want is that electric blue, then make it a Lilo and Stitch joke.

Careful in EP now too. The speed cameras are only in school zones/on 7A-4P, but the red light cameras are everywhere now too.

I had one of the covers that plug into the accessory port to get heated seats. It worked well, but it slid around. The factory seats were also a little beat from the previous owner using it as an actual work truck so I replaced them with leather 2 tone.
