So called "Unicorn" is this price unjustifiable?

In their defense, the regular cab is lighter and with a manual the 2.7 may not be nearly as sluggish :notsure:

A Subway $5 foot long sounds like the deal of the decade.

Used Toyota prices are insane. Why would you pay that much money for a truck that old with most of its life already used up. Pay a little more and buy something new that you can keep for a long time.

Neither of those numbers would put a 3rd gen in the top 1000 if I was looking for a fast vehicle. If that's what you were looking for...

I like the reg cab for how they look and that they are kinda rare but I dont see paying double cab money for a cab that has way less utility

my buddy had a dark red 90 2 door T4R, 5 spd. I found it for him locally. Shame is he totaled it, when some moron parked their car in front of a house on a busy street where there is no street parking and 45 mph zone. He came up over the slight grade on a street he regularly drove at night to find a car parked, lights off in his path. Boom! all over for the t4R. The people were standing on the porch and watched it happen.

my 2.7 will outwheel any 4.0 Tacoma as far as capability (has a shorter wheel base and it’s a lot lighter) the 2.7 is also more reliable than the 4.0 there’s only one record here on tacomaworld of a guy going over 500k on his 4.0 but a plethora of examples of the 2.7

It’s not for everyone but it’s worth that much for a reason just because it’s not for you doesn’t mean you have to shit on it. I have a 5.7 tundra and I can still appreciate a 4.0 even though the v8 will smoke it any day

Yep, unusual, but not a unicorn. So the seller, much like his price, is high.

The 2.7 is a great motor, I like to say it’s faster than a speeding ticket. With the 5 speed, it’s easier to keep it in the power band, but the gap between 1st and 2nd is a little bigger than I would like. I’ve had mine for about 3 years now, and so far it’s one of my favorite vehicles ever. I’d suggest checking out the 2.7 single cab thread in the 4 cylinder sub forum if you’re interested in the RC models.

I wouldn't sell my RC for less than $20k, and it's an automatic. I don't think they are worth that much but the market sets the price, what ever price that is.
