12L/100km estimated combined fuel economy. Considering it is making near 100 more hp than my 4L that isn't bad at all.

That would be much more reasonable. They are nice looking truck and would fit nicely in my garage. I’ve had a full-size in there a few times and it fits, but I can barely walk around it.

I'm curious to see how they will look size wise next to my 2nd gen - thinking they will be just a little larger since that's the way things always go, and that reminds me - aren't Toyota bringing out a Maverick competitor under the old Stout badge?

I read that they are the exact same size, on purpose.

TW is petty. If you look at the watched thread notification but don’t go to the thread, it automatically turns off notifications. I have other things on the go TW, doesn’t mean I don’t care!!

Anyone have a TPMS tool that I can borrow to get the sensor IDs? I’ll just write them down and use techstream when I need to swap wheels in the future.

Howdy folks, introducing myself in this thread as I'll be headed to your lands in September. The GF and I are driving up from NYC to see Acadia, Cape Breton, Halifax, etc. I have a @Ripcord camper on my truck so we plan to do an overlanding style trip (with a couple hotels/airbnb in there for her sanity). I plan to post my trip plan in the coming days. Would love to hear some feedback from you lads. Cheers!

You’re coming to see Acadia? Like the university?
Sept is usually a nice weather-wise here so that’s a good call.

We are visiting Acadia National Park on the way! Happy we will be there in September though. Looks like the tail end of the tourist season and I am hoping for less bug activity.

Update on the NS roadtrip from NYC. Linked below is my current route on Google Maps routing to all the free campsites on Crown Land and Wilderness areas. Question for the group: thoughts on taking the ferry one way/both way? There is a CAT summer sale going on so the round trip Yarmouth/Bar Harbor is $650 and one way is $350. Drive Bar Harbor to Truro is 6.5hrs and costs $165 roundtrip in fuel. At the moment, doesn't seem worth it since we have about 9 days for the trip and it would only add about 13 hours driving.

Do we think the experience is worth? Would like to ferry the truck at some point for funsies, wonder if there is another ferry around NS we can do.

edit: linked route is with a one way ferry Yarmouth - Bar Harbor. Doesn't really change the route much though.

Im personally not a fan of that ferry. Expensive and takes longer when you consider arriving early for crossings and waiting to unload. If you drive in and want to go to south to yarmouth and also north to Cape Breton, you will be somewhat backtracking but both eastern and western routes from yarmouth to truro are nice so just drive down one way and back up the other. I also wouldn’t drive through the middle #10 like your map shows. Just stick to close to the water on the 101 then 103 back up (or vise versa)

and cut cross country from the 102 at Milford station to Windsor and the 101. Going into Bedford/sackville isn’t anything special and you can see it on the way out

Cheers I appreciate the insight! Didn't even consider the added time with unloading and all that. Definitely doesn't sound like the best move.

And thoughts on the spots I added as far as camping? Hoping to spend as little as possible on campsites then surprise the lady with a splurge on an Airbnb/Hotel or two after being in the sticks for a few days.

sorry, don’t know much about camping.
If you’re going to Cape Breton you really should go around the Cabot trail and maybe up to Meat Cove. Very nice drive, hiking and views. I’m sure there must be somewhere up there to camp for nothing. Sydney is a small city and okay to stay or stop for food/gas, but it’s not where I would send tourists on a camping excursion. Haha

There is a cable ferry at Englishtown that is kinda fun and quite close to your planned route. The crossing is only a couple hundred yards from memory but it ticks all the boxes of ferrying for funsies! Alternatively there is a ferry from Pictou NS over to Prince Edward Island. That one is a 75 minute crossing and depending on which of the two boats you end up on might have ice cream . You can then traverse PEI and leave by bridge which will put you back on track for New Brunswick and ultimately Maine. Charlottetown in PEI would be a good surprise non camping night - cute little downtown with good options for eating out.

Edit, seconding what snowman said about the Cabot trail - wouldn't add much to your trip overall and the views are spectacular. Check out https://parks.novascotia.ca/make-reservation and https://reservation.pc.gc.ca/ to book campsites in our national and provincial parks.

Appreciate! Looks like we will be doing the PEI ferry to check that off the list. It is way cheaper and PEI looks like a cute way to end the trip before we head back to the states. Will check back with more updates soon! Thank you all

Well I mean technically if you take the ferry to the island it's free.. You only have to pay to get off PEI :p

And the bridge is cheaper than the ferry, so ferry over for free then bridge back when you have to pay
