Wonder if the cyber truck with the gov tax brakes and no dealership fees will end up being a lot cheaper than the 4th gen tacoma

Looks like new vehicle sales over all were up for July. UAW also wants a 40% increase to workers wages.

The Tacoma is not made by the UAW.

Well no it's not, but I don't think Toyota will lower the price of their trucks in protest or for any other reason. Toyota could justify raising their price when UAW built trucks see the price increase. Unless there's a strike which will mean less inventory and higher prices, giving Toyota dealers leverage to bump up their ADM.

I don't see prices going down.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the return of the year end sale this December.

I also would not be surprised if we see a multiday jump in days of inventory in an upcoming cox report.

The DC Tundra has way more room than the DC Tacoma. I'm 6'3'' and was surprised with lack of room in DC Taco. I couldn't get my head or legs in the back seat. Finally figured out to go head first and knee first to squeeze in the back. My head was pressed up against the top of the roof and was strattling the front seat that was all the way back.

The Tundra DC has much more room, can just get in the back with the front seat all the way back. Not a lot of leg room for 6'3'' but sometimes I drive with front seat not as reclined anyway. Maybe not good for 4 big dudes on road trip.

I'm not knocking the Tacoma or a hater. It's the most popular mid size trucks. But if someone needs more room the Gen 3 may be useless for a lot of adults.

I'm getting 17 mpg in the Tundra. It's perfect for me. The Tacoma would have worked also.

My Tundra is already paid off. Same price as new Taco. That's why I was looked at 40k truck. Price is a big deal for me also.

I don't know why the OP is so rude. I'm just being realistic. I sold two vehicles that were showing first signs of mechanical issues that could have cost 20k. I got into reliable new Toyota truck. I was just saying the chance of major mechanical issue can be higher risk when waiting and trying to time a sale on new truck. If new truck prices drop so will trade in value. I actually make 3k on my F150 and drove it for 3 years but that will likely never happen again. Had I waited I would have likely lost at least 15k in total.

I'm thinking the 2024 Taco will be high demand no matter what else is going on. I'm still following. I would have gone with that if it was an option but feel very lucky to end up with the 2021 Tundra.

Anyone planning to have an adult in the backseat should be in a full size truck, regardless of brand.

Ive always preferred the double cab thinking ill use the backseats but never do. Starting to think an extended cab is more practical

The new extended cab will not be very practical to load items in and out without the clamshell doors.

I guess it depends on what you're loading or the intended use. The doors are nice to have though for sure
