What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Pulled the intake and throttled body. Cleaned the MAF sensor with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. It didn't look dirty to start with, but that was the reason for the tear down. The throttle body was filthy! I had a spare can of carb cleaner and used about half of it, a green scotchbrite pad and a tshirt to clean and degrease the TB. It took about 45 minutes to tear it down, clean it, and re-assemble it. Took it for a test drive and noticed that the slight hesitation from dead stop was now gone. I think the TB was sticking closed by the ring of gunk at the closed seat. This worked so well I decided to do it to to pull down the Sequoia! It responds even better! Maybe both will get a little better mileage!



Does anyone know how to replace the secondary air filters?

I was looking at your gallery. The TB seems 2 B discolored in all three pics. Are they all B 4 ? Do you have any after ? or I'm I wrong ? Thanks. Curious George.

 

I placed a procomp transmission drop bracket with carrier bearing drop and blistien 5100 adjustable shocks on the front oh gave it a bath too

Finishing up my rgm, needed more bondo and I never cut the bottom fins out.
Heres pic's for now will post new ones when finished.

and thats after it was power washed many many many times......

 

Wow , makes you wonder what is caught up in the parts of the frame we can't get to .

 

i can power wash the body mounts a thousand times and still find more shit coming out.....
