Thanks all sounds like he's gonna be ok, it was the jumping on an airplane after a major contusion that caused the blood clot. He's on blood thinners sounds like headed in the right direction.
Enjoy your weekend all, headed for my hunting lease tomorrow to check cameras and do some scouting.

Hopefully my previous post gives some clarity on what actually hurts engines and pumps and motors. It is not soot, it is metal debris larger than about 20 micron. Notice I did not say gearboxes or differentials. They need big ol chunks around 100 mm or so to do damage.
Soot don't hurt but change your oil every now and then to keep it from making sludge.
Hydraulic oil is clear but can be dirty!
By the way, your engine filters down to about 7-10 micron in general, which is why soot gets through.
Hydraulic filters are even finer, down to 4-5 micron depending on filter. Can't go lower than that because you start filtering out the anti wear and anti foam additives.
So, take what you read in the general forum with a grain of salt

Yes. It wasn't pretty. For some reason he thought this was a forum run by government rules haha. It's all free speech until it isn't. He didn't get that.

Lol true. However, if it was, I would have been in a lot of pain many times in my life.

I'm a big fan of filter magnets to help with the micron filtration issue. I've got them on everything with a filter and a few other spots, like the trans oil pan and the differentials. Keep those metal flakes from flowing around in the oil, no matter their size.

I should have taken a picture of the magnet in the tractor's hydraulic sump, it's about 1" dia x 1½" long. It was not unused. :anonymous:
