I have only gone home from an off-roading trip once on a tow truck. Thankfully:)

Becoming a trailer queen drastically changes that mentality

The trailer was easily in my top 5 mods to Betty.

edit: it also significantly cut down on the miles driven, so less wear and tear on expensive parts, mainly tires. I only put like 2k miles on it over 18 months once I got the trailer.

Yep, definitely don’t drive it now with the intention of breaking it. But it is just so much peace of mind and then like you said saving miles on parts.

It’s handy for friends too. Drove 8 hours up to PA once and a friend ripped his steering rack in half 5 minutes in. Trailered him home and he drove Betty.

Having a full size truck, trailer, and maybe a shop lift is the best way to make new best friends haha

Or get her what she really wants then if she's like mine she'll let you get/get you what you really want.

Nah she genuinely wants one. Win win. Maybe I’ll convince her on a raptor.

    Whole lotta stuff
Too much temptation to modify with a raptor as a tow pig. Or perhaps I’m just speaking for myself

Plus raptors make shitty tow vehicles, at least on paper. They’re rated lower because of the soft suspension. Get a 3.5 ecoboost and you’ll be sitting pretty.

I’ve discovered the art of leaving things stock and it’s been pretty nice. Just buy the vehicle how you want it from the factory and enjoy it. That’s what I’ve been doing since I traded in the supercharged Lexus on the new one.

but raptor comfy off road and look cool

My f150 has been insanely more practice than the taco. Probably not fair to compare, but still. Tons of room for the family on long trips and little feet can’t kick the seats. I still take it through the woods after work. It’s obviously massive and I have extremely low expectations for it off-road, but I’m amazed at what it’s been able to do with some 2.0’s and 35’s slapped on.

Also having a lighter off roader these days makes towing less of a chore. Towing the taco with the Ford was pretty miserable after the SAS though. Super tall and super heavy.

yeah i would say everything that makes a raptor decent offroad makes it a horrible tow rig....my 2500 is a amazing tow rig....and i can tell you i want to spend as minimal time offroad in it as possible...lol
