Nope. But it was literally a new truck so no need to AFAIK. Truck had about 900 miles on it at the time. That's why I think I can unload the factory suspension since it's practically new. I also swapped out the front bumper without cutting and the rear towing hardware since I installed new steel front/rear bumpers. So I have a garage of all this nearly new Tacoma hardware hanging from the rafters that should fit any 3rd gen lol...guess I need to start posting in the buy/sell forum, eh?

Don't buy that ridiculous tool that ECGS sells. You can get a cheap bearing puller for under $30. They sucker people with that stupid thing.

Sadly I wouldn't count on getting anymore than $150-$200 for your stock suspension. Marketplace is flooded with them from so many people installing lifts, and there aren't many people looking to buy secondhand stock suspension. My stock suspension has 50k miles and I've got a guy lined up to give me $100 for the whole kit.

was considering buying some eibach stage 2’s. After reading through here and hearing about some clunking issues I’m turned off. My ocd goes nuts when there’s a clunk.

There's plenty of people who have the stage 2 and have no issues. There's so many variables besides the coilovers that can contribute to any kind of suspension noise. The stage 2 kit is great in my opinion

I went with eibach because of the easy of adjustability, and because it's a complete kit. Eibach uses a threaded spring perch, so you can adjust the height of the shock easily and dial it in exactly where you want. 6112 uses a c clip to hold the perch, so if you wanna adjust height you need to take the whole coilover apart to move the perch. I also.like that the eibach kit came as a complete coilover. 6112's can be bought assembled with new top hats, but if you dont choose that option you have to reuse your stock top hat which means having to use a spring compressor which is just more work. From all the reviews and research i did, the eibachs are between a 5100 and fox 2.0 kit as far as ride goes. The fronts on the 6112 have a wide shock body so its probably got some good dampening. Id imagine the eibach stage 2 with rear reservoir shock kit are gonna be close in comparison to the 6112/5160 rear reservoir combo.

I agree on the ease of adjustment. My only counter to that thought is With the 6112’s they would get set at the top setting and never leave that spot. The eibach’s would initially be adjusted and then probably never get moved again. They’re both essentially the same price for me.

I've adjusted mine two or three times already, due to adding body armor and a different front bumper, and then for towing so my nose wasn't sticking up into the sky. That little spanner wrench is pretty useful...

I can see where some would. From my experience in the past I set it and that’s it lol

Any update on the “clunk” issues? About to pull the trigger on this kit for my 2023 but feeling a little iffy.
Shock surplus says they haven’t been able to recreate the issue and two local shops say no issues reported since they’ve been installing.

I feel there is more too it than it being the eibach kit... i put the lift on my truck with around 3000 miles and had no issues. I feel other people may have had other worn parts that may contribute to the clunk. I did change out my lower shock bolts to the 4runner bolts. Some said that the clunk may have been cause by the lower bolts so i swapped mine when i did the lift just incase.

I feel the same. Too many individual factors to pinpoint the issue it seems. Pretty sure I’m gonna roll the dice. Drove a Tacoma with 6112s and a Tacoma with Eibach 2’s and the Eibach’s just felt better to me.

Im pretty happy with the eibachs. I chose it over bilstein because ive heard bilstein was a little more stiff.

For me, I’d agree. Not a bad ride but definitely more firm over the slow small stuff.

I've had this kit on my 2014 for 30,000 miles now. No issues at all.

The issue only seem to happen to a very small number. And of those, none live in South California to have Eibach look at it and figure it out. For me, I haven't decided what to do about it. The kit is amazing other than the clunk. I have already changed out the lower bolt with no change. There is definitely a loud clunking noise when the suspension drops out suddenly. Is it the Eibach... or something else.... it didn't do it before the Eibach's...

Do you have them cranked up to the max height?

my thoughts, which may have been covered on another page here, are that it could be

    1. Maybe the coilover truly isn’t designed to be ran as high as eibach claims or people are running them past the recommended height which is causing them to slam against the internal stop when the coilover uncompresses and extends. Its possible that lowering the coilover a couple turns could fix this.

    2. If running stock UCA or potentially aftermarket maybe there’s enough downtravel of the eibach that when it extends it slams the UCA into the coil causing a noise?

How were the eibach’s different from the 6112?
