Can spindle gussets be welded in without completely removing the spindle?

    Sure.

Welded properly? Take them off. It's easy anyway.

    While iagree removing is better!

Easy really depends just where you live. Just how many years they have been on.

In the past i would buy a used set and completely rebuild.

upper ball joints and wheel bearings and lower if they needed done.

    Then just swap !

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

When you try to hard finding the all pieces makes it difficult.

No matter what DET cord should never be used taking things apart.

I looked at the PrimeWeld machine, but it cost twice as much. My budget for this tool was pretty small.

I think I posted here when I made the setup last year. Basically, modified a quick attach system so my forks are strong and easy to reposition. Been working real well. Go to any tractor site and you'll see guys say "I don't know how I lived without these pallet forks". They do come in handy.

Just tilt forward to re-position. Bottom helps keep the weight off the round mounting bar at the top. I've seen guys bend those so I tried to isolate the round slide bar as best I could.

I like it, especially the way it folds up out of the way when it isn't needed. The round top bar reminds me of the Hyster and Clark forklifts I used in the military. I'll suggest you might consider welding in a piece of square bar to the bottom along the edge, where I marked it green, with an open space toward the middle where I marked it with red. The size of the bar would depend on the amount of space behind the forks, maybe a 3/4" or 1" bar.:notsure: That would hold the forks from swinging forward until you push them all the way to the middle, like most commercial forks. It would also add some extra strength to the bottom plate. But most importantly, it would give you more control over where the forks are pointing and let your forks spear down into something at a downward angle.

Being from Indiana, making this sign was mandatory. It's not glued together yet. I'm going to recoat the black. I also have a 2nd copy I am going to go 3D and maybe some LEDs.

    22" x 12", 18 gauge, 30 amps, 65psi, 130 ipm cut speed, .051 cut height, 0.7 sec pierce delay, 40 amp consumables.

Here is the official image. I left off a little of the flag detail (thin slivers of color), but it's real close. Oops, looks like I forgot the "TM" emblem. Guess that means "Team Members" as a shout out to employees there at the speedway...:D

Thx man. The Fein look pretty great. Speed control, reversible, not totally bank breaking… my finger is hovering over the buy button.

40 bumper is ready for paint. It's only 180* here in TX otherwise I would have primed it last night. A few in-progress pics.

I'd use silicone rtv sealant. Holds firm, and is removable.

Run a bead around the perimeter, and random beads across the middle. Put some weight on it to keep it flat while the silicon cures, and you should be good to go for many, many years.
