We left first thing Friday morning and they didn't arrive until 8PM on Friday...

No. Actually the weather was quite pleasant for August with a mild breeze keeping everyone cool.

 

I'm hoping to get most of them done before midnight tonight; I've got several non-Toyota trucks that I want to show off too!

 

Prepare to have your inbox blown up; I spotted a numerous slammed minitrucks, a '68 FJ40, a couple of new Toyota overlanding vehicles, and a 3rd Gen T4R with a 2001-2004 Taco front clip! Let's not forget a few very unique Ford Rangers (Carlisle was celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Ranger this year)!

 

For the first time like, ever, Carlisle's on-site photographers didn't take pictures of my truck; I think it's because my truck looks rather boring without the wheel covers. Unfortunately, they arrived almost half a day after Amanda and I left...

 

Getting the truck inspected...

And I've got to come back tomorrow because it won't pass inspection, and the parts won't be in until tomorrow.

 

I got the the genuine Toyota ones for $378 parts and labor...

Today, and I've got another issue with the truck that could be very expensive, but thankfully doesn't make the truck unsafe to drive or cause it to fail inspection...

Gearshift interlock solenoid, which prevents the truck from being shifted out of Park without applying the brake; I paid like $120 to have this replaced back in 2014 or so, and when my mechanic said the Toyota dealer wanted $789, I about shit myself...

It turns out that the idiot at the Toyota dealer was quoting the price for any entire shifter assembly, which I most certainly do not need. I believe I found one for $318, which is still more than double what it cost in 2014.

 

Any ideas on where I could find the part? According to my research, it's gonna be several hundred dollars for the part, but nowhere near $800...
