Then it must have had something other than the premium package to bring the MSRP to $43k. I should have taken a picture of the darn thing :)

That’s good you got under, I wouldn’t want to pay $2900 for all that useless stuff they added on.

The Tacoma with the 13,000 adjustment at Groove has a Toytec lift kit with UCA’s, SEMA wheels, and new tires. I think it also has sliders from RSG. It is still overpriced but they sell at MSRP for their non customized vehicles.

This place is such a wealth of information. Lots of great advice on service, maintenance, features, upgrades, off-roading, etc. It's a shame that with all that great information that so many members aren't willing to accept advice on buying. If pressuring people to stop overpaying for vehicles makes me a troll, so be it.

Your shopping experience sounds just like mine. I'm from California and just bought a 4x4 SR5 in Magnetic Gray at Kendall on 6/1. California Dealers were charging way over MSRP and did not have the color/model I wanted. Found a truck at Kendall through KBB and put down a deposit, then rented a car a drove up to close the deal. The Kendall listed price was $1,218 UNDER MSRP! Kinda complicated getting the registration done in California, predictably. Make sure that Kendall sends your DMV the paperwork ASAP! California charges huge penalties if you do not get the rig registered within 10 days of it entering the state. You might be able to get a temp registration, but may have to pay at least the DMV registration fees (not sales tax) like I did. Trouble was, this was out of pocket because Kendall did not forward the registration fees/taxes I paid at the dealer in time. Consider paying all your registration fees/taxes directly with your DMV, but you won't be able to finance them as part of the out-the-door price.

I know this is an old post. I'm waiting on my 2023 TRD. There is still a markup but not as much.

You shouldn’t be paying any markup right now. Don’t do it.

Agree, especially on an automatic. Can easily get 2 to 3k off an auto right now, 4k if you try I would think.
I was 1500 under msrp on my manual which I agreed on the price back in may. I still see markups on manual transmission but those trucks are fir someone else to buy, not me.

Sorry if you’re paying a market up right now you’re getting ripped off by 5k+

dealers are selling and advertising $2-3k below MSRP right now all day

I haven't found any dealership that isn't doing it. I guess I could try Ford, Chevy and Dodge midsize, but those trucks suck. Nissan and Honda maybe, but, they are not Tacoma. I was told 2023 no markups, but, it appears to be a norm.

It’s your $, personally I’d get myself a one way flight to a dealer that isn’t ripping off- you’ll save yourself $5,000 roughly
