Is it keyed or push to start? Either way the answer is the same. Lock the door with a key while it’s running

Can you leave one fob in the truck and carry the other one with you to lock and unlock the doors?

If you have remote start you can get out and then remote start the truck to keep it running.

This is a better solution as no one can break a window and take of with your truck AND your dog this way

Mine won't let me lock the door from the fob after starting the truck.

No, it will not lock with a fob detected inside.

How I used to do it was lock the doors, ensure only the driver's door was unlocked, then lock it manually from the outside. I used to do this before I had remote start.

    That sucks haha.

I'm looking for a way to warm up my truck in the winter but also make sure no one steals it while its running.

Use the full size valet key not the little emergency one in the fob. I use the full size one all the time for locking the tailgate. Works just fine.

It sounds like you have push start. Start the truck, get out, use the physical key inside the fob to lock the doors behind you

you guys have door locks that you put a key in on your doors?

mine is a push to start with only the fob. the actual physical key is only used to lock/unlock the glove box and tailgate.
