    Which tonneau covers are you using on your 6' beds? How do you like them? I'm considering an Extang Tri-Fold or the Leer 700. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

    I have a "Tri-fecta" (the tri-fold) and I love it. It folds up really fast and provides a lot of room. I've driven 500 miles with it folded up and it stayed secured the whole way. It completely comes off in minutes, but I've never had to fully remove it to haul anything. It's been on my truck for at least 5 years and still looks great...but I do use tonno tonic on it to keep it looking nice.

    IMO it's more versatile than a 1-piece. There's some pics in my build too.

    I have the Extang Trifecta and it has performed flawlessly for all my needs. It keeps the bed and contents dry, it folds for easy unplanned hauling of tall stuff, and based on how easy it went on, I know it would come off easily if I ever need to. Finally, it allows all bed rail functionality, including the oem tie downs to stay in place. My brother has a Truxedo roll-up that seems to provide the same easy roll, but it required minor modification of the rail.

    I have the Extang Full Tilt. It is a soft cover that can be opened in one of 3 ways.

    1) It has snaps as the traditional covers and can be opened by unsnapping the
    cover itself.

    2) The tonneau cover itself snaps to an aluminum frame with 3 cross braces to keep
    the cover taut. The entire frame is mounted on gas struts and hinges at the front
    so it can lifted from the rear in the same manner as a hard cover.

    3) The frame itself can be removed or installed by one person in about 30 seconds.
    With the entire frame removed, the bed is full open for hauling larger cargo.

    I like it so much that I also bought one for my '66 Chevy 1/2T Hot Rod pickup.

    I've got the Trifecta Signature (has the fabric covering) and highly recommend it. I found it very well engineered and was quite easy to install. It just went through an incredibly wet winter and kept the bed amazingly dry. It stood up to a winter of Washington rain and several snow dumps and looks good as new.

    Very easy to open and close and the fabric really gives a classy look to the truck. You will not be disappointed.

    I sell truck acc for a living, I chose the Trifecta out of them all. The Extang Solid Fold is nice too.

    i bought an access cover as well... it wasnt the one you have... it was their cheapest model, and it is great... i'm guessing you will love the new one you get.

    I had the Extang Trifecta... GREAT cover, but I wanted something more secure. I do a lot of tailgating and things like that, and I was always worried someone would steal our chairs, coolers, bag toss, etc. since everyone could see us load it in to the back of my truck.

    Anyways, I recently sold it and got the Undercover

    I LOVE the undercover. It looks awesome, is sturdy as anything, and keeps my goods locked up. Definitely recommended

    The problem with the non folding solid tops like the Undercover is you can't load anything into your truck any taller than the bed without removing it.

    Well, not really true. I do it all the time with my Leer. You don't leave it up some and use a tie down on each back corner from the shock hinge mounting point on the tonneau down to the D-rings on the bed. You'd be amazed at how much "big" stuff you can still get in the bed with it on. I amazed the guys at a furniture store years ago when I loaded in a bunk bed that came with two tall ends with drawers and a computer center. All the pieces were still in the boxes, but they were big. I didn't think I'd get it all in there, but you can do a lot more than it appears.

    OP, I wouldn't even consider the Leer 700 (which is what I have). I got mine back in Aug '05 before there were other options for a hard tonneau (Leer, Snugtop, and ARE were the only ones that had retooled for the 2nd Gen). Because of the weight (I had to devise a cheap means to lift and hang it in the garage as a one-person job), I would go with the Undercover if you decide on a hard tonneau. I'd love to sell mine and switch since I take my tonneau off at least a dozen times a year (firewood hauling, getting loads of gravel, etc).
