    Why?

Diesel doesn't go bad like gasoline. Only concern would be water/condensation accumulating in the tank.

There should be a low point drain for removing that water.

I would treat it just like I would a Big Truck or in this case a tank for a deisel tractor farm tank use Howes Deisel traetment Alge Gel

Look for the big water separator that looks like a fuel filter except water gathers in it separating it from the fuel. This is true about condensation and there should be a drain valve.

I just got an email from HD letting me know my first order for the RTG model will be delayed.:annoyed:

Interestingly, checking up on their website. The RTG model still shows a price of $199 on the website but is out of stock, and the lighter RT model now shows my local HD has 20 in stock for $749.

Store orders must be getting priority, as I think I ordered first.:notsure: The RTG model was supposed to be delivered today by the original shipping estimate...

Did the charge reappear on your card?

I really want mine to break up the soil to plant grass seed. My wife is already coming up with garden ideas. Kids picked up pumpkin seeds last week.

Back at the Ferris. New voltage regulator fries the key switch fuse too.

Now even with a new fuse I’ve got nothing off the key switch past the relays. They both click. No starter though. I’m about at my wit’s end.

swapping the relays still gives me clicks on both but nothing to starter solenoid

Pretty sure the key switch fried. I now get ground through the violet with the key on… dunno if that has anything to do with my issue or if it’s a new issue.

Also, relays no longer click when I turn the key. So much for my high after the motor swap.

Gonna run to the parts store tomorrow when they open and grab a new one. Checked violet wire to ground before and after the fuse and it’s fine.

When I turn the key violet has continuity to ground with the battery disconnected. Could possibly have been my issue all along…?

Or… maybe the stator has an intermittent short to ground. I’ll jiggle some wires and test that tomorrow too.

I can relate to that. Just got Internet 1.5 years ago. Relied on the phone hotspot.

hey ivve got an electrical question for you guys.....

on my mini excavator: the temp gauge reads perfect if the key is on, but not running. as soon as you click on over to the start/run it pegs the needle & stays there no matter the actual temp.

my thought was that this was a ground issue? but what ground & where?

anybody have this happen before on another running machine?

Diesel doesn’t go bad. Hit it with a biocide when it gets filled and check for water but it’ll stay good for years. I worked at multiple facilities with large Cummins gensets where I did not get fuel delivered to them for 2-3 years at a time no problem.

I have a friend whose Ford diesel backhoe was stolen. 13 years later some mushroom hunters found it out in the woods and called the law. Since the guy only lived about 5 miles away and had filed a report when it was stolen, they called him. He replaced the battery, and it started right up.

There was an 8" diameter maple tree growing between the bucket and the front of the tractor. He said he and the sheriff decided for the tree to be that big, whoever stole it probably just drove it straight there and parked it. Either teens playing, or thief planned to go back with a trailer to get it, but never did.

I got a shipping notice for the RT model, with an est delivery on the 9th— still crickets on the RTG model. Neither one is currently showing charged against my bank account.
