    well aren't you kind. lol.

Think i will try it. Been wanting to find new places to go besides signal peak or what ever is around auburn. Thank you.

How is the lake? Swimmable? Warm enough? My buddy and me been wanting to go off roading for us, and go to the lake for the wifes....this looks like the perfect spot.

Lake hit 70 degrees surface temp last week, it's pretty good right now. Friends have been out on wakesurfing without wet suits the last few weeks.

There's also Twin Peaks OHV which is much shorter but basically right in town. You could probably do it in 1.5 hours out and back from South Lake. Super easy, though.

umm not sure. Working a lot of my weekends now at days, but i will post on here when we have a chance to go.

Went to signal peak today. Buddy got a jeep and wanted to take a easy trail since we both had our families with us.

So many people out there today. Glad everyone is having fun.

Burnside Lake Road is open but be warned Alpine County aren’t fucking around with fire restrictions. We popped up to Hawkins Peak for the sunset and saw some folks with a campfire burning. On our way down the FD and Sheriff were on their way up.

There’s still some decent snow at 9500ft or so.

Does anyone know if there is a somewhat reliable route across from Arnold (4) to Sonora (108)?

Gaia suggests that a combination of forest roads (notably 5N02) may make the trip possible. Curious if anyone has a route that works?

    Thank you

I did that a few years ago, but it was further east. Didn't save the track, but I think it was more like Dorrington to Beardsley.

Right after work, running on fumes..but worth it. One nighter, not dispersed but have everything I need to unwind.

Someone posted a reminder that fire restriction started August 1st. If you haven't, you need a fire permit even to run a stove.
You can get them here. Five minutes and you're good to go.

I tell myself I don’t need an oil catch can and then I go and make parks like this. Probably a ~30 degree grade. Came back to an engine oil coolant low alarm. Quick turn around saved it from backing up into the cylinders and no white smoke but wew, I’ll remember to make better choices at 11,000ft next time. ;)

Contemplating another one nighter after work tomorrow with the doggo, not so where where. Probably just wing it and explore.

I've always liked that spot just before the top of Signal that looks down the Fordyce. idk if it's the best but I've always wanted to just spend a nite there.
