Forgot I did look at the archives and if you’re around 700-1000 should be okay but 12-1400 you will sag. Eric tested it up to 1400 and said he lost 2” when overloaded.

Are you saying your Tacoma is 7,000 lbs or something else? If a Tacoma that doesn't sound safe. The GVWR is 5600 (at least on mine) so that's more than 1,000 lbs over the limit and well over even the axle rating. I know there is a margin of error and it's not going to just explode but that's going to overtax the brakes, the wheel bearings, probably even the frame an axles eventually. Did you reinforce stuff, upgrade brakes, etc?

It’s not that uncommon with these builds I’ve found but yes I have quite a bit of stuff done to the truck. I have been looking for ways to reduce weight. I know people with similar setups that weigh less but that’s what the scales say. some people will be shocked at what their trucks end up being. You can see what I’ve done in my thread. def have replaced wheel bearings and rear ends. I will be putting a tundra rear axle in the next few months

Curious what you all do for the dust that sits on the top of the tailgate against the back door on the camper. I have the box fairly dust and water tight now, but everytime I open the tailgate there's a blast of dust into the back and it's getting old. I've thought about a little dust blower, but always looking for options

Thanks. Mine is my daily driver so I have no intention of getting that heavy with just the SP, sliders and a few other minor things. I'm still not sure I want to haul the SP around all the time either. Still debating between that, a small trailer or getting a Tundra. Sucks being poor.

Quoting myself to add a bit of info in case it's helpful.

I'm on Option 2 with the RTX and have maybe 200lbs extra all the time with a fiberglass topper and some tools. I have about 1" of rake with a 2" lift in the front so basically the rear is 2" over stock. If I add 200 lbs more to the bed it drops 1" so brings more or less to level. That's adding weight right at the rear not distributed like the SP would be.

This leads me to think that Option 2 would be okay with SP but that loading up with gear for a trip would have me sagging some so Option 3 is probably a better choice. Hopefully that will bring back the rake when unloaded (just the weight of the SP).

Option 3 def lends to trips better. depending on how much stuff you have and if it's loaded up more than not. Do you plan to run a swingout or extra items down the road?

I really don't know what to do. I'm probably going to get something else down the road like a Tundra for "retirement travels" but I kind of want to keep the Tacoma and maybe turn it into more a camping/off road oriented rig when I'm done DDing it, but I'm still maybe 5 years from retirement and I don't want to wait to start having fun so really struggling to figure out a solution I can afford and still not have something that sucks for DD. Not sure I'll do metal bumpers and swingouts but we'll see.

I dont have a SuperPacific, but a very similar style and weight. I'm on 6112's at 6/5 with 5160s in the rear and am Option 3. Full Aluminum skids and steel sliders, half bumper and winch.

Stage 2 or 3 will be good if you go Deaver. You can always remove a leaf if 3 is too much. I had some old dakars with HD and it wasn’t enough at least for my setup. if it says a little that’s way better than current. You can always sell or upgrade later if needed. It with your setup tie archive leads are attractive as well. I really wanted to try them but it didn’t meet my needs

From where my ARB compressor is mounted I can reach the back of the truck and give it a blast of air with the air nozzle. Does a pretty good job of getting heavy dust off the top of the tailgate and bumper. Also use it to blow dust off my moto and MTB which I often carry on a hitch rack.

i've got stage 2 deavers w/ the SP, full-length 3/4" drawers, house battery, air comp, stall mat plus i dunno probably 50-60 lbs of tools and assorted. Loaded up with cooler, water, awning/chairs, and other gear i'd say its the max (plus a bit over lol) for stage 2s. Any move into a full rear bumper would mean stage 3s definitely. Minus all the camping gear etc its just nice for DD

I would agree there. Def at some point get a weight of the truck to see where you're really at. I'm shocked eery time at how much all this crap adds up. One of these days I am going to pull the rear bumper and get it weighed to see how much it hanging off the back adds up. Seem to draw a lot more than the actual weight of the bumper.

last trip out to the coast i checked and i was just below 6k

its not just how much weight though but where that weight is. Definitely with a steel rear bumper, swingout(s), full-size spare, jerry cans, and whatever else thrown onto the truck that far cantilevered out is more of an issue as far as rear springs than say full alum skids down low

i'm actually undersprung in the front since i added my semi-hidden bumper & winch (160sih?), the stock 600# coils in the 6112's arent up to the task, i have 650s sitting in the garage waiting to be put on

yah def. I always go to scales that split the weight front and rear and def heavy in the rear 3800ish or so when fully loaded. I need to get another weigh as I changed out my bumper in the front which shaved off some but nothing too dramatic.

Below 6k is a pipe dream for me. unloaded, no tire, no skids, no campaign gear and no one in the truck I saw 62-6300. If I had the stock bumpers I would have been under 6k for sure. I have another buddy forgot screen name that has the same rear bumper, full skids, sliders, front bumper and X1 and he sits just under or right around 6k. some voodoo magic with that one.

100w solar panel installed. This is about as low profile as it gets for a rigid panel.

I’ve been looking pretty seriously at a super pacific but can’t find information about how many people it sleeps. Hoping someone that has one can chime in. Is this considered a 2 or 3 person wedge?

Adults 2 person wedge. We got our 5 year old. basically it’s a full size bed for reference. Folks have added a lower bed for kids/dogs etc but up top 3 is possible but 2 adults def takes up most of it already.

It’s so close to being perfect. I was hoping to avoid using the bed of the truck for sleeping. My son is 13 and still growing…. Appreciate the response
