Man. I’m an outlier then. The only RGB is my 60% keyboard. I have zero rgb in my pc :rofl:6800xt and 5800x3d. Only cheap parts left are the b450 motherboard and boot drive it came with since it was a pre-built.

Last time i updated bios on my b350 strix board, it reactivated the rgb on the board. Other than that, i am rgb free as well. Its basically just one soft light coming from under the chipset heatsink, so its nothing horrible.

As an RGB nerd/1st time builder, I'm kinda obsessed with all things LED; I love those lighted cables. I think I may have just found a way to spend some Amazon points :anonymous:

I also want to add that the Noctua cpu fans orientation was not with my purchase or written in the instructions. That diagram showing it correct online was clutch, but not in my purchase & or mention on the included instructions at all - crazy!

Looks sharp but don't push that card!

Accidently bought a similar case (sealed front) without realizing it until months later.

Long story short my GPU throttles down due to temps :bananadead:

Anyone dabble in the racing sim world? I'm about to dive straight in with no experience, and gonna spend 3-4x what I originally thought my budget would be :anonymous:

Funny thing the gpu stays around 50c during gaming but the 7600x goes to about 70c during gaming.

I actually took the front glass panel off and now the cpu during gaming is about 50c and the gpu is unchanged.

tried to put a 240mm fan on top but it would not fit.

See thats the thing, I also don't really have the space lol.. but I'm gonna make it work anyways! I'll likely just be using a clamp mount to mount the wheel to my desk when wanted, will leave the pedals under the desk all time, and haven't found a great solution for shifter/handbrake yet. I started dabbling with some ideas using 80/20 extrusion, hoping to build my own steering wheel mount, that I could quickly loosen and "slide down the track" to be out of the way. Steering wheel will be quick release, so I've just gotta find a solution to get the wheel base out of the way for normal PC operation/regular gaming. This is pretty much my best idea so far, because I could likely do the same for a shifter/handbrake mount. Short term goal will be to do this, stay in my computer chair, lower it down some and recline a bit for driving, and then ultimately build a dedicated rig way down the road (if it all works out I suppose lol). Just sucks because it aint cheap to do haha. I could probably lower the budget in some places for a cheaper setup to compensate for the price of extrusion/parts for mounts, but that takes away from all the fun. So it'll likely just be a "clamp on when needed" type of setup, and slowly develop into an 80/20 rig over time. Here's a rough idea of what I'm dreaming up - side note, I have absolutely no experience with CAD stuff, this is just a free software, and I have no structural engineering degree, so idk when to use corner brackets vs gussets vs whatever else lol I'm just playing legos at this point..
The idea is this long piece of extrusion would be bolted through the 2x4 frame just beneath the table top, and run the full length of the desk on the front; the wheel base mount extends out then wraps back above the table top, so wheel will be as close to screen as possible, roughly at a suitable height, and also not stick out in depth very much compared to the desk. When not in use, loosen a few bolts (maybe even find some thumbscrew/quick release type options) and slide the wheel base, ebrake/shifter rig all the way left to the far side of the desk against the wall, out of the way when not in use. I'm only going off rough guesstimates at the moment, but the entire rig should tuck into that little space to the left of the desk mat, occupying the space where the blue-lit headphone holder/rgb remote is. It'll be an expensive solution, but will be entirely modular and adjustable for future rig upgrades, and should be way more stout than half the crap out there you can buy for double the price. Any sort of pedal mounting (if even needed) will just be a cheap lumber scraps/plywood angled platform, and will likely just live underneath the desk full-time.

Be prepared to never be done with it.. Since taking this photo last year, I did a full PC build with 4090, added corner shakers, and added a couple new steering wheels. Can’t bring myself to add motion….yet. Advice, buy once, cry once… it ain’t cheap! Ask away if you have questions.

I definitely anticipated that, which is why my budget multiplied a few times over the course of me researching setups. Every time I think I've landed on an ideal rig, I find the next best thing :anonymous: What started as a want for Logitech bundle led to t300 belt driven, which led to direct drive, which led to Moza r5 and pedals, which led to nm differences, that led to Moza r9 - As of now, I'm hoping for a Simagic Alpha Mini wheel base, probably use an aftermarket wheel (intending to learn to drift, so probably something like a NRG deep dish or something similar; don't need buttons), Simagic P1000 pedals, Moza handbrake, and still up in the air on a shifter. My main goal is 'as realistic as possible' within reason, whatever that means lol. My $300 logitech setup idea more than quadrupled in just a few days!

I'm definitely selling some things before building this thing out.. a couple hundred dollars was easy to justify, until I went down the rabbit hole and opted for better stuff. Luckily I'll just be on one monitor for a while, so no need into looking at beefing up my PC specs anytime soon lol. Or so thats probably what they all say...:spending:

I have been into Sim Racing quite some time, so I started off with more affordable setups, and held on to them for years until I made the decision to go all in. This is my first rig that was not a wheel clamped to a desk. I used it with a PS3 Slim and a Buttkicker which were hidden under the seat. Just like my new Rig, I wanted something as portable as it could be. Both rigs have only one electrical connection to the wall outlet, making it easier to move around and plug in elsewhere.

These were taken in March of 2010:
    000_0082.jpg 000_0081.jpg

Sold it in May 2021 for $400 to fund the build I have today.

4070 or 6950 XT.... on one hand the 4070 is faster, on the other hand the 6950 has 4gb more VRAM and 256-bit memory bus, but consumes SO much more power. I'd probably have to upgrade PSUs with the AMD card, and I'm pretty partial to Nvidia... but you get Starfield for free with the AMD card...

Wanna buy some MOD3's with ballistic brain bucket?

You'd be covering my whole cost for a sim setup :burp:
