I’ve found a few aftermarket items I’d really like to get for my Tacoma but there appear to be no Canadian distributors that carry them.

Example: RokBlokz mudflaps. Flaps are $160 USD and shipping to Canada is minimum of $140 USD.

Another Example: Underland Offroad Rear Seat Molle Panel. I just get a message that they don’t ship to my address when I tried to order.

There are other items I’m interested in too, Putco molle mounting plates, Caliraised switches, etc.

I’ve ordered the mudflaps and Molle panel so far and had it shipped to the US side of the border but now I’ll have to make the 6 hour round trip drive to pick that stuff up! I don’t mind doing this once or twice but I don’t want to make it a regular thing.

Has anyone else in Canada found any better solutions to ordering stuff from the US?

I agree it is a real problem getting aftermarket parts in Canada that isn’t marked up by x4.

I have had good fortune with Extremeterrain.com. Some of their stuff can be shipped to us.
Ch4x4 I purchased some switches from them. Florida to Vancouver no problem.

There is also these two, but super pricy for some reason.

Canada has always been tough to get items shipped to, just like Hawaii. I have also seen where you order parts for the US side of the boarder, pick item or items up, travel back. But they charge you a tax for said parts. I am not sure, but I don't trust any company that has "overland" in their name.
Have you tried asking your fellow natives?? Click the link and it will take you there.

That’s what I’m going to try this week. I ordered the mudflaps and Molle panel and had it shipped to a receiver on the the US side of the border. I’m hopefully going to pick it up Friday. I guess I’ll find out what the shipping receiver fees (shouldn’t be much) and customs duties (could be a lot) will be then.

    Yes
can’t you get around the customs duties if you install the parts before going back to the border and dispose of the boxes etc ?

Possibly, at the border they have asked in the past if I have had any mods done to the truck. I wouldn’t want to say no if I did install something, but if they didn’t ask I wouldn’t feel bad not volunteering that info.

It might look suspicious if I crossed the border down to the US alone and then came back in an hour with nothing :)
There’s not a lot to do in Sweetgrass so that might invite a whole lot of questions…

Good luck on whatever you do:fingerscrossed:
I find it extremely funny. I live closer to the other boarder in south (mexico). All they really care about is drugs and aliens :anonymous::rofl::rofl:

Depends on what gets installed. Things less noticeable like sliders will pass undetected. A new cap, for example, might be detected if the border agent (glorified tax collector) compared your vehicle's snapshot from the last crossing. If they catch you, taxes may be charged on the whole "upgraded" vehicle. Plus you'll get blacklisted in the system so they'll search your vehicle every time you cross.

Install shops near the border have been known to snitch on you to Canada Customs if they see a Canadian license plate.

No magic here, all part of living in the People's Republic of Canuckistan:

Use Canadian distributors. You got TruckPartSuperstore and Krave Automotive in your area. A few more in BC.

    Use Canadian manufacturers: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/made-in-canada.758963/

Get raped on shipping and brokerage.

Pick things up south of the border if the savings are worth your time and fuel.

Items under ~$50 typically won't be taxed if sent through USPS/Canada Post. I've ordered nutritional supplements where 1-bottle orders pass untaxed, but 2-bottle orders are taxed.

That’s what worries me about not declaring stuff, don’t need grief when I’m on vacation with the family.

I’m buying Greenlane sliders/bed stiffeners. And plan to buy their stump bumper and skid plates.

I’m getting my suspension done by Krave tomorrow!

I would recommend against aluminum armor if you play in the rocks. For mud it's fine.

Big Country Customs in BC makes steel bumpers, sliders, skid plates, bed stiffeners...

APF Off Road in Quebec makes steel sliders and skid plates.
