Like an idiot I've lost the spinner/tire iron part of my jack handles. Rather than just buying a new set of handles, is there a better regular, under-seat jack for the Tacoma than the stock jack? I don't need anything off-road or a bumper jack.

bottle jacks work pretty well. harbor freight has them relatively cheap. just keep a few blocks of wood around as helpers

if it's going to stay tucked under the seat permanently, I would search ebay and salvage yards for a stocker. I would guess it's resale isn't much.
As mentioned above, bottle jacks are small and cheap too.

Thanks. I built these a while back, about 12x12. They fit behind the rear seat and work OK when I need 'em.

Stock bottle jack isnt tall enough. Any suggestions on an aftermarket jack that works on a lifted truck? I’ve looked at safejack, and they are asking a bit too much…

it’d be great if it could still fit under the rear seat. I know I’m not asking too much! Haha

Not sure what you mean by "stock bottle jack". Bottle jacks are made by more than one company and come in various sizes. You can also usually raise the starting height by rotating the inner portion counter clockwise.

he means the bottle jack that comes with the truck, or "stock bottle jack".

Ok. Then as you and I have suggested to OP...get a bottle jack. Go to an automotive supply store and get an aftermarket hydraulic bottle jack. They come in various sizes and prices. Don't just shop on the interweb. Pretty simple really.

3/8" drive fits into the hook and the extension. I use an old ratchet and pound an old 12mm onto the other.
I still have the spare tire wrench bent part.
Ratchet is quicker/easier for getting spare down, too.

Where are you placing it? I have a 2.5” lift and my factory bottle jack works fine.

If you are placing it on the frame, you’re doing it wrong.

using a ratchet strap to prevent suspension travel can help a lot too

True. My point was just that if you aren’t compressing the suspension, then no bottle jack is going to work. Place it under the axle and it should give plenty of clearance to swap tires.

yeah totally man, you're exactly right. on the fronts depending on the situation it can get tricky and a strap could be helpful.
