There's a lot of bad/incorrect info out there about torque specs.
Should anything that was installed be tighter than 1st thought?

Mechanic is pretty peculiar about torque specs so I think so. I has the driveshaft rebalanced and reinstalled it myself without a torque wrench but I don't see how that would be it unless I got it too loose unevenly torqued or something which I took great care in tightening

Update: The dang noise kept getting worse and worse. I am moving soon and I had to make sure it wasn't something catastrophic. Took a chance and made an appointment with my local Toyota Dealership after my mechanic told me it wasn't the rear wheel bearings and he didn't notice it anymore.

They diagnosed it as both rear wheel bearings. I was a little skeptical. 2 days and several Benjamin Franklins later, I get the truck back and that awful hum/droning and vibes are gone! :bananadance: Now the only thing I hear is tire noise from my All terrain tires that are starting to cup. I can deal with that lol.

I wish I hadn't wasted all my time and money at the other shop while he threw parts at it. Moral of the story: Sometimes the experts are not the experts and it takes a regular ol stealership grease monkey to solve your problems??

Anyway, thanks for all the advice, TW!
