Sorry for the newbie question, and I know there are tons of posts out there, but it would take days to get through them all. Looking to get a good floor jack for my 3rd gen., what's everyone using?

    TIA

Harbor Freight Daytona jacks are in every amateur racing series paddock in the country. They're good and they go on sale a lot.

Been using a Pittsburg harbor freight one for a few years with no issues. The Daytona ones from there are suppose to be good too.

Harbor Freight Daytona 3 ton, low profile extended reach jack, gets our trucks off the ground pretty easy. for another 69 bucks you can get the cross beam and lift one whole side up at a time. utilizing those combine, with 2 jackstands (6 ton) gets all four corners off the ground in seconds, and really speeds up tire rotations. Pay attention to the total lifting height (or get a jack that will accommodate an extension). Higher is better and there is no need for a low profile jack unless you have other vehicles that would require one.

Daytona 3 ton for me as well. Really the only option if you want a floor jack that looks like an 80s hair metal guitar.

I still have my 20yo craftsman. Lifts the truck and fits on the floor behind my seat since I have an extended cab

for my suggestion, HF only offers the long reach/extended height jack, in a low profile package. so... win win, especially if you have other autos. Ski

I bought a big old orange used floor jack decades ago at a tool sales they were doing at a local K of C here. I think it must of came from some automotive service shop.

Sorry to re-visit but are there any other floor jack recommendations? I have never owned one and am finally at the point in life where I can feel comfortable buying one and not doing the little bottle jack routine every time.

Truck is not lifted but I'm looking for something that will be easy to use and will last a long time. My dad keeps trying to get me to buy one of the Harbor Freight ones but I just can't bring myself to use anything from HF for a safety application.

You should be good with any 3 ton floor jack. I still use a floor jack I bought 40 years ago at an auto parts store. Don’t even know the brand name as it is scratched up and worn off. Was slipping but I brought it back to life by adding fluid to the system.

    https://www.amazon.com/Bars-Leaks-Jack-Stop-Leak/dp/B0002KKIBY?keywords=floor+jack+oil&qid=1691529637&sr=8-1&th=1

I do leave the floor jack under truck when on jack stands as an extra safety measure to make sure the truck stays off the ground.

The harbor freight jacks are fine to use. The jack stands are questionable. Since there was a recall on them.
