This is NOT a crusty frame. Look at the rear rail above the axle. That's usually the first part to go. If it's not through rust I'd drive this thing for another 400k miles as is!!!

I didn't see any holes, but I felt a bunch of rust flakes when I stuck my finger inside the rails by the rear wheel well, which gave me flashbacks to my old 98 single cab Tacoma. Like I said, the 60 frame was thick enough that it'd probably last 20 more years anyway.

I'd be interested at 10k, but the owner wants 20. It is only like 147k original miles though.

That's crazy. He must've been drunk, and/or on the run from the law?

$10k covers your entire upfront costs as well as part of a one-pay lease

Rebates I'm sure cover some of the rest

Are you on mud? I'd keep an eye out there. That being said, flaky rust is fine if it doesn't compromise integrity. His asking price of 20k seems a bit steep, but something like 13k would be reasonable based on the pics you provided.

Yes I don't think it'll sell at 20k, unless someone with FU money walks by who happens to want an FJ60 in that particular color or something.

Cute lil 20.5HP 3cyl diesel. It's comical how huge it looks in comparison to the iddybiddy gear pump I installed lol20230808_131119.jpg

I think the thing that sent used Cruiser prices through the roof was that new 300s are selling for way over 100K. Now that something new named Cruiser may well for around $60k, I'm looking for use prices to come back to earth. People moaned about how the (affordable) Junior Packards 110 caused the senior Packards to loose cache as a true luxury brand. It actually returned the company to profitability and kept it from going broke.

Of course, they would not give up on building big unprofitable models. That started draining their cash reserves and caused one of the worst mergers in history to take place.

Just driving too fast down a big hill and dropped something he was smoking. He took his eyes off the road to look for the smoke and lost control.

Cruiser sales have been steadily dropping in the US. I would be glad to see volumes return as we had with the 100 series.

Not that 100s were particularly affordable, people bought them.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I just stay off mud, most of the folks there who are long time members are dicks and the mods of the 80 series section are dicks too. Beno and CDan are both useless unless you know them from a long time ago and will just generally be sarcastic and snobbish if you ask them anything. I'm resourceful, I just read old ass threads there and solve my own issues, not worth talking with any of them anymore. Makes the vehicle less enjoyable if I have to interact with mud folks.
