Just got this girl a month ago from the shelter. She's almost 8 and has been awesome. We did a wisdom panel DNA on her and she came back pure 100% American Staffordshire terrier. All the Amstaffs I've seen are much smaller and typically less blocky. I really thought Dolly would come back with some Mastiff or Bulldog mixed in. More along the lines of an American Bully. She's 95 pounds as pictured. Head shape and size is larger than a Pit or Amstaff. Anyone have experience with Amstaffs, and do you think that's what she is? How accurate has anyone's experience been with Wisdom panels results? IMG_20230731_160335139_PORTRAIT.jpg IMG_20230727_104850147_PORTRAIT.jpg IMG_20230717_165734527.jpg

My pops had a 100% Staffordshire Bull Terrier... but not a Amstaff... Queenie was an awesome dog... that stated, your girl looks legit to me... that's my $0.02, not even enough to pay the tax on bad cup of coffee, YMMV

    Yeah.
You and BigEasy got me thinking, what is the difference? Apparently Staffordshires are MUCH smaller than American Staffordshires. Your girl is a bit big, but not excessively. Found a comparison here: https://a-z-animals.com/blog/staffordshire-bull-terrier-vs-american-staffordshire-terrier/

Good article. Thanks for sharing. Where I'm still confused is when you bring the American Bully breed into the conversation. I sent pictures of Dolly to an American Bully breeder and asked him if he thought she was an American Bully. He said without a doubt that she was. I then told him that her DNA came back 100% American Staffordshire terrier. He said that she was still considered an American Bully. What? Either way, if she is not an American Bully, she is the biggest American Staffordshire terrier I've seen.

You might notice from the bottom photo that his right paw is deformed. That was the result of an infection he had on his feet for a couple of years, we tried everything. Saw 3 vets. One infection just moved on to another part of his body. His dog mommy doctored him every single day on one part of his body or another. Final vet was a Dermatologist. He was a good boy and hung in there as long as he could.

He looks like he needs a job. Trim his nails and throw the ball. To many dogs on here need what they are not getting. Love and pets alone will not get it done. Working dogs need a 24-7 job. They only have so much time to get it done. My 2 cents.

Really? Wow. Not your place to judge what somebody else’s dog needs without knowing the situation.
