Hi all I just bought 4 new Michelin 265 65 R 17 112 LTX M/S and as soon as I left the garage the truck steering wheel was shaking between 50 and 70 mph so drove it like that for a couple of days to see if it would remedy itself but it did not.
Took it back to garage and they took all the tires off, cleaned, sealed and balanced tires and said the front driver side was off a bit. I asked would there be a bad rim and said no.
So took off and sure enough did it again so went back and the boss took it out and came back and said we will order 4 new tires as one was bad.
I was sort of disappointed I mean Michelin are great tires and have been buying them for years. Anyways will see what happens with this.

If it was immediate could be as simple as incorrect balancing.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Some tires just are defective. Had this happen to a new BFG All Terrain. Tire is trash, can’t balance to save my life. I have had 3 different places attempt to Road Force Balance it….no go.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Sounds like it got crushed in transport. It happens quite a bit in my experience. Maybe roll them on the floor first before install to see if the wobble

Seems like a lot of tire manufacturers are having the same issue it seems.

I’ve had dozens of Michelins and all have been smooth as glass. I got suckered into les Schwab years ago and they bent the bearing cap so the wheel didn’t sit flush with the hub. They shook like crazy.

Things like this happen with every brand now and then, sounds like the tire people are making it right for you.

BTW: If you want troubles buy a Uniroyal -- the worst tire known to man IMO.

Michelin isn't what they use to be. I had a set on my tundra figuring with them costing more than other brands, they would be better. I didn't even get 40k miles before they were useless.

Nothing is what it used to be.
Everything is of lesser quality, lesser quantity, lesser value, lesser everything but everything is more expensive.

I've never seen a roadforce fix a balance, its a gimic.

Bad tires happen. Sometimes you get old stock that was squished sideways for 2 years. Who knows.

Bummer for getting a bad tire.....but awesome that the tire store is taking care of you. That's the kind of place that I will go back to.

Thanks every one. Yes they road forced balanced, they used impact wrench but then used a Torque wrench also. The PSI was set at 28 so everything they did was right. Yes they are very good with customers that is why they do all my maintenance and have been for years. They are just a local garage not a dealer.

The chances of it being a bad tire is pretty low in general and even less with a Michelin. The chances are it wasn't the tire, but their inability to properly balance a Toyota wheel. The fact that it is a local garage makes it sound even more like they don't know what they are doing. You should take it to a reputable tire dealer. There is a special cone for Toyota wheels that they need to use. As already mentioned, don't waste time with a road force balance. Total rip off.

i wonder why you're commended PSI is 28 but on my SR it's 32. what's the difference? maybe that's why mine rides like a dump truck.

But what about post after post on here about road force balancing remedying a tire shake issue? Worked for me when my local tire place couldn't get a set of Wildpeaks to balance good enough to not cause a shake on the highway. I had them road forced balanced. It was a drastic difference.
