Mine has had the issue. Zero support from PC. Says it must be my truck. It’s not.

Nice. I did my timing cover when I did the head gasket job. Not a short task at all. And for giggles n shits, got new timing chains, guides, pulleys, and tensioner. The original guide’s crumbled when I took them out.

Ahhh, Hidden Falls. I thought you were talking about a trip to Harbor Freight.

 

These people take their cheap, single-use tools seriously. They camp out in the parking lot and make a weekend of it.

 

Let’s tune your Tundra and get that whiplash even more powerful.

The few tools I've bought there I consider single use.

My HF buying rules are,

The more moving parts, the less reliable it is.
Never use HF tools to lift anything that you will have to get under.
Never use a HF tool that if it breaks, it will hurt you. For example, a wrench that if it snaps you are going to slam you knuckles into something hard.

I decided just to invest in a Viair compressor and not have to worry about it. A good pump seems like a “buy once, cry once” kind of tool.

 

Got the Lomax cover that’s so popular here from @truckalter installed today. I see a couple small spots towards the cab that had light leaking through so I’ll figure something out for those. Overall I’m happy with it, very easy install and happy I can still use my rails.

 

Hope nobody was impacted by the Cedar Park fire. Looks like an apartment complex burned to the ground along with the suburban ninja MTB trail system.

 

Passed by that area on the way to work this morn. Looks like the fire is out. Texas is a match stuck right now.

 

It really is; I washed my truck last night as a sacrifice so hoping the rain pours outta nowhere.

 

I saw two stories about the fire on line this morning. One says it started as a brush fire and spread to the apartments. The other says that it started in the apartment complex and then embers started multiple brush fires.

Pretty brutal conditions to fight either type of fire in, let alone both.

 

Just moved to Cedar Park for work. Go to Hidden Falls 3-4 times a year (will probably be more now that its so close), also going to spend 5 days overlanding/glamping in the hill country in September. Have already had AJs Yotas do some work for me (he helped me put a receiver hitch in the front cross member for a winch). Would love to show up to some meetups if there are any

 

yes, there are meets. 1st Sunday of the month is pistons in the park. We park all the way in back. HF run on Sep 9th for 2 birthday bashes. We will be camping and celebrating. Do you have FB?

 

Yes we are friends on facebook I am planning to be at HF that weekend barring any technical difficulties (assuming I get this truck put back together by then)

 

We are having a rough time right now, but so far this year we are WAY under how much got burned/destroyed last year. Only 50k acres this year compared to 458k acres last year. It's bad to say, but we need a good hurricane to come into the gulf stir up all that overheated water and push this fucking heat dome off of texas, and bring us some water and moisture.
