BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
It’s not the mfg I don’t think. It’s the way they stack 1000 tires into an 18 wheeler trailer. If you happen to get one of your weenie tires crushed under an ag tire (for example) that’ll f it. Edit: 2 weeks ago I hear a crash out front of the house. I look out and the garbage truck dropped my plastic can (thankfully after emptying it into the truck) then proceeds to leave and crushes the top right corner of the lid and can rendering it inop and drives away. No one gives a shit so you have to.

I will find out when they install the new ones. Then I will take it to a dealer for sure. So I wait.

Ok thanks then I will take it to a tire store. I did not really want to take it to a dealer as I do not trust them. I bought the taco new and never went back to the dealer or any other toyota dealers. The mom and pop shop do a great job at maintening my taco. If their are any warranty issues then I will take it back to a dealer for now so far so good at 47,000 km :fingerscrossed:

Just cause they used a torque wrench doesn't mean torque is correct. It just means torque is what the impact was at a minimum. In other words if impact was 125 pounds that's what it is. Torque wrench just tells you what the torque is at for minimum. Does not measure max. Should never use an impact on wheels. Lazy people use impact wrenches to tighten.

Had the same thing happen to me. Discount Tire swore that they had never had a problem with Michelins but they most definitely stood behind them replacing them once and 6 rebalances or remounts. Still couldn’t get them to stop shaking. They ended up replacing them with their own variation of Bridgestone Duelers. A tire that holds its own against the Michelins in my experience. Very well pleased with the new tires.

Yeah, but back in the day if you installed michelins you paid more, but got a premium tire. Today you still pay more, but end up with joe average michelin tires

This is what caused my wheel in balance From the band of idiots at Munroe muffler. Asked for my keys and took it to another shop once I saw this. Then called corporate and got a refund. This was just one of the rims.

What you learn reading on this site dealers suck, independent shops suck. Somehow tire shops are ok though. It's quite comical.

Not all of them. I'm sure some dealers are ok and I send my wifes Subaru to an independent shop that I swear by. They only work on Subaru cars.
Damn good work at damn good prices and they always go out of their way to correct ( often no charge ) something that is amiss.
Found a good independent shop that works on nothing but Toyotas as well.

They're out there - you just gotta hunt to find them.

Every set of tires I've mounted on my truck I used our regular-ass balancer at work and it turned out fine.

My current 33 skinnies I balanced the lazy way (static) with weights on the inside edge only. Mounted on beat-up 15 year old alloys from a FJC

    No shakes, no shimmys, nothing

    But I don't buy Michelin trash ;)
    Japanese only, Bridgestone or Toyo

It doesn't matter what kind of machine is used, what matters is the guy using it. I took my time, I wasn't getting yelled at to go faster and faster

Haaa, you lost all credibility with that statement. Have you looked at where your "Japanese" tires are made? Bridgestone bought Firestone and those Duelers are made in a Firestone plant. Now I get global preference and we all know that France isn't known for its industrial manufacturing. Anyone who has ever driven a Peugeot or Citroen knows this. Michelin on the other hand is the exception. They have the highest quality control of any tire manufacturer out there. They go to great lengths to ensure the quality of their products and that starts with the sourcing of their materials and follows through the manufacturing process. It is an almost completely automated process with very little human interaction. There are companies that make tires as good, but no one makes tires that are better.

Idk, even about that. I had a Goodyear tire shop balance my tires twice, and they failed to get it right. Finally fed up I went to a local Midas shop where I was told they have some very good techs. They got it right the first time. Went back to them later after noticing a wheel alignment issue the dealer didn't correct after spending a $120 with them. Midas again reset the camber this time to correct it after the dealer claimed it was in spec. Trick is to find a shop with techs that know something when it comes to this stuff.

That's even funnier. No. I don't work for Michelin and despise Amway oil. I spent a lot of time in the tire business and pretty familiar with all the brands. I have seen a number of mergers and results of them. Every tire has their place in the market. There is no tire that I would recommend for every situation. Michelin makes great tires, but they are expensive, and expensive for a reason. Cooper makes good tires and they are more budget friendly. Aside from Goodyear that puts their money into marketing instead of quality, you get what you pay for. Anyone who wants to roll the dice with a Hangzhou or a Cheng Shin, god bless them.

I only buy American when it comes to tires (well as American as they come) and have had amazing luck with them.
