Because in 1959 the owners manual outlined the proper technique for adjusting the valves and lifters.
Now in 2023 it tells you that you shouldn't drink the battery acid.

People today (the general masses) are too stoopid to have a coffee pot in the car. Have you driven through a Walmart Parking Lot recently?

 

I'm wondering now if the bed outlet will power my Keurig...hmmm.

 

This was my favorite, think it was a Caddy option at some point.

 

Record player

 

Highway HiFi record player.

Marketed only about a year, 1956-57, cost almost $200 = $2171 today.
It turned at 16-2/3 rpm and took special records.

I can't imagine what a PITA this thing must have been in real life.

 

Ah yes. Chrysler product, not Caddy. The person I recall now had an Imperial. But had nothing to play on it.

 

I remember as a kid traveling with mom and dad in our 63’ Bel-Air. Dad would say “Kay” grab the wheel so I can eat my sandwich. Steel dashboard, no seatbelts, cold can of Strohs between his legs, 70mph. Life was good from the backseat.

 

Did you ever crawl up on the rear deck behind the backseat and nap or watch outside? My favorite, non politically/safety correct, was to do that at night and watch the stars as we drove somewhere. Good times! That we even lived through.

 

No Maam. But looking back that might explain some of my behavior based on some level of head trauma.

 

My Dad had a Saab 95 station wagon similar to below, 51.5 cubic inch (841 cc) 3 cylinder 2 cycle engine with around 38 hp.
You put a quart of genuine Saab engine oil in the fuel tank with every fill up.

I remember laying in the cargo compartment watching the sky and it seemed huge.



Seeing one as an adult the car is not even 5 feet high and barely 5 feet wide.



Ours didn't have the rear facing seat, just an old piece of foam to stretch out on.

I can remember the only time my parents visited us at Pope AFB, NC, circa 1985. They were on their way back to VA from SC. We met them by I95. Kristi rode with Mom, my Dad got in my old '81 Toyota pick up with a beer in his hand. He was offended when I told him he had to finish the beer and put his seatbelt on before we got to the base gate.
