Its kind of strange thing, Redwoods need fire to produce saplings. The only way the pinecones will open is in a extremally hot fire. Fire suppression has really messed up a lot of these ecosystems. That's what let the Caldor fire happen up here 2 summers ago. Keeping fingers crossed that people are not going to be stupid this summer up here.

Getting ready to drop nearly $7k on Sofia's new school year today :annoyed:

last year we did it monthly, but this will save us a little long term and would rather just get all the pain out of the way up front this time lol

With his formula, just to get him used to the taste and thicken it up a bit for drinking

Think I mentioned we lucked out that he's never needed it; sleeps all night

But he is showing interest by shoving toys in his mouth whereas before he'd constantly push stuff out with his tongue

Pediatrician says when he isn't rejecting so much, start him off with oatmeal as soon as 5 months

    God damn

Yeah we'd have to pay for preschool as well, hoping I can see if they go by whoever puts him on their taxes or how that works

We file separately, and I know preschool charges if you make over a certain amount though it'd most likely make sense if she puts him as a dependent for the tax return

How are you guys doing that with Sofia?

it depends on the school probably, the one we go to is a private one but it's a co-op so you get discounts based on how much work the parents put in with parent-teaching hours and doing school maintenance, etc.

Gonna cost us more this year because Rebecca won't be able to put in any parent-teaching hours with the new baby and all

Fuck wish we had that; I'd end up getting money owed to me with all the work I'd do/offer :welder:

we rented a Jeep Grand Cherokee for our OR trip this last week and it just had a little circle knob with P R N D options....the only way I could figure out how to get it in lower gear for the hills we were driving down was to put it in manual mode by using the paddles on the wheel....but once you put it in manual mode with the paddles there was no discernible way to put it back in regular auto mode without shutting it off and turning it back on.

It also had 4wd but there was literally no mechanism or button anywhere to activate it...even if it was full time 4wd it should have a 4lo/4hi switch somewhere right?

I dunno, I hate new vehicles lol. give me my 25 year old Toyotas

Lol, they went after the original 1959 interior and took it too far. Clean but odd.

Yeah it's getting confusing out there. I wouldn't be surprised if they hid the 4x4 option in a damn screen menu somewhere.

probably, there were sooooo many options on the dash screen but I just couldn't fuck with all of it while we were on the road. I got stuck in manual paddle shifter mode for hours which I hate using in autos, I prefer the auto lever where you bump it up/down to change gears like our Rav has.
