So I just got done reading crashburn80s post about tire and wheels recommendations and I had a few questions. I want to get the TRD Pro wheels for my truck, and I know I need different lugnuts now. But I wanted to know what kind of tire I should go with that would make the most sense. I like the beefy look of off-road tires or all terrains, but I don’t really off road that much I drive more on the street however we get bad snow in Colorado so I wanted something reliable for that. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Pretty happy with my Cooper at3 4s. Not super off-road looking but they’re light, good in snow and are nice on road

I just bought a set of Falken Rubitrecks, just arrived yesterday. They are all terrain tires made for people that use there vehicles on road or as a daily driver. From the reviews I’ve read they are very capable off road and on , quiet on dry pavement, offer great traction in the rain and do very well in snow. They are less expensive than the Wildpeaks, l ordered them from Priority Tire for $711. + tax with free shipping. They arrived in 2 days. I can’t wait to get them mounted up but I’m waiting for my TPMS sensors to arrive.

I'm close to Costco and the ko2s are a great deal there.

I appreciate the recommendation! So with those style of wheels do I need different TPMS sensors?

I appreciate it! So were there any other components you had to get when installing those wheels? Or does everything just basically sit right on?

Mines a first gen, but I think it’s the same for you. All I needed was lug nuts.

Ok. Was there any rubbing or did you notice any lower MPG or any of that sort of stuff?

I went up to a taller and wider tire, so I lost a little, but I wouldn’t expect a change if tire size stayed the same

What makes up 90% of your driving makes the most sense.

If your snow is plowed roads or when snow is falling it seems Michelin Defenders would be a solid choice.

If you haven't replaced your TPMS sensors in the last 10 years, I would recommend getting new ones anyway. The batteries don't last forever.
