Gotta read the whole thread :D

Forced is the operative word - not like they are gonna be all chill about it, unless the truck shows up in a million pieces..

    So messy - -

Not wanting to do it versus what is legal are two different things.

well, they owe you a truck. If they don't deliver file a lawsuit. they'll find you a truck quickly once you do that. dealers have become so arrogant due to the market you are going to have to give them a reality check.

I would take delivery at the dealer, or refuse delivery if it’s damaged. Contracts can be voided.

All joking aside….. I hope that the transport issues get resolved and you get your truck sooner than later.

    I agree.

Hopefully they choose to act right vs. forcing it, if this becomes an issue.

Thanks all for you input and wise Tacoma words. This is my first Tacoma, my last vehicle was a 2016 4Runner which someone totaled this winter. This year has just felt like one bad thing happening after the next. I was really excited to get this truck, but the dealership and the transportation company have not been making it a pleasant process. Mainly created this to see if others experienced the same thing and to hear their stories. Will let you all know how it turns out, wish me luck!

@MonkeyChief Just told the dealer at Toyota I will not accept delivery after this, and that I will be making the 4 hour round trip to pick it up. Will be recording/inspecting every inch. Wish it didn’t have to be like this.

@cryptolime the truck is around 75-100 miles from the dealership. About 1.5 hours driving give it take. If they can’t get it to their dealership by next week I may have to get a lawyer involved even though that will be a terrible and long process. Shits dumb

I'd just walk away at this point, not evrn worth it. Was it solar octane? Probably isn't even solar octane.

If you do get a lawyer, get one that specializes in Toyota issues.

former sales director here chiming in. On deals like OP, he contracted the deal but the likelihood of it being funded are close to 0%. Almost every franchised dealer finance director will not bill a deal until the tires are over the curb. The deal is basically sitting in the finance managers office waiting for the truck to show up and customer take delivery. That way they don’t have to unwind the deal, reverse funding, reverse an RDR for vehicle sale reported to Toyota.

OP just breathe, if you mention a lawyer you’re never going to get the truck. It’s also gonna slow down the process even more and you’ll end up with 40 farts in your new seats from an irate employee.

Former general sales manager here (next to be general manager) and yes, you are spot on as your post correlates with what I said earlier

I only followed up with what you quoted due to other information posted by others.

I'd ask for something if they weren't honest about the truck. They could tell you to pound sand but something doesn't make sense here. They know where all there assets are at all times.

@Mbtstaco yeah it seems off forsure. Between all my interactions with everyone there, and being ghosted by the guy that originally sent me the truck info and allocation info. There’s no way that truck carrier has just been sitting on the side of a freeway for 4 days!
