I struck out this year after drawing a late season Coues rifle tag last year that ate up all my points. My dad got drawn for Fall Turkey (6a), December Bull Elk (6a), and early Dec Coues (34a) so it looks like I will be wingman for a bit. He is getting up there in the years so I'm glad he drew those while he can still kinda get out there.

I'm more ready than ever for OTC deer opening day later this month. Been practicing out to 100yds all off-season and my bow/arrow combo is dialed. Now if only the temps would drop a little. I might need to head north and chase muleys.

Went up to unit 1 for the deer opener saw a ton of bucks but all were spikes or forkeys. Elk were plentiful, saw some turkey and grouse too. my coworker got his 1st deer and I found my first deadhead elk. Fishing wasn’t good at big lake lots of algae but the weather was nice.

I missed two bombers there in the last three years. Both OTC archery. Missed a great mule deer there and a white tail this year opening day. I’ve got that whitetail patterned pretty good and hoping he makes it to the late archery hunt if I don’t fill my rifle tag on Ft Huachuca in November.

    Congrats to the young hunter!

Kids and I got cards hit for spring javelina. Heading up to Flag in a few minutes for a cow elk.

Taco needs some blood on it!
