It was….. my sister is amazing in how she deals with people. She tried to help me when I was fighting the system for Maxx. She will help a lot of people!

So….. I feel ready to share my story, but not in great detail.

Maxx struggled with addiction. He went to rehab the end of June. When he got out, he was starting intensive outpatient therapy. I went with him to all of his apts. He was very open and honest and was ready to make changes. I took him to get medical assisted treatment in the form of a shot to help with cravings. He was doing all of the right things and attending daily meetings. I had him home 13 days from rehab when I came home from work and found him. People think suicide is selfish…. I feel it was the most selfless thing he could do. He knew we were worried and stressed about him. He was afraid he couldn’t stay clean. He didn’t want to keep putting us through that. I’ll never be mad at him over this, if I have to feel like this the rest of my life, so he no longer has to suffer, then I’ll do it for him. I could see in his eyes those 13 days that he was scared, I miss him terribly and I fought like hell to save him❤️❤️❤️

You are so strong to share this. You are/is his strongest supporter and that is so evident to everyone on this thread. You did an amazing job and you continue to do so by honoring his legacy. Stay strong, Shauna. Hugs.

 

Nothing beats a mama’s love for her children. Especially when they are hurting or struggling. You’re an amazing mom to your family. I have tears in my eyes. I feel your pain and love for Maxx in my heart.

 

He was still clean at the time of his death. I feel like that needs said. He did his best. ❤️❤️❤️
