And your truck is perfect because it already doesn't have A/C!

 

I would never rip out an intact air-conditioning system; A/C is the one thing that I cannot do without in a vehicle, and @Stitchgirl90 cannot be in the humidity very long or else she becomes very bitchy, so she REALLY needs A/C!

 

It's no secret. She really is, which is one of the reasons my dad bought us a canopy to bring to the show; Amanda also fell asleep on Saturday while I was looking around at trucks, and some of the other Tacoma owners were about to check on her wellbeing when I came back!

Things were going smoothly at first...

 

But then they miscalculated...

 

The gray Toyota lost to a blue Chevy S-10, but the Toyota was allowed to come around one more time to see if they could actually pull it off, and they did! Sucks that it wasn't official...

 

Ha! I guess I am old! Looking at these "old" 90's Toyotas it reminds me of our 1971 Corolla with a 2Tc and 4 speed. My dad bought it new and i terrorized ìt in my teen years. Sorry no pictures

I added a photo that I missed; I believe that this truck is under construction, is not yet street legal, and as such is not destined to be a trailer queen. Note that it does not have license plates, or side view mirrors...

 

Yeah, but the other trailer queens I saw last weekend were registered and had license plates...

 

Also, I don't blame the owners of some these vehicles for trailering them. In many cases, the custom work renders them very unpleasant to drive on the highway at best, and impossible at worst. Most lack A/C, some lack heat (not like that's needed right now though), and many other frills like a radio and windshield wipers. The lime green Toyota pickup with the purple flames does in fact have working A/C, but for some reason that truck's owner still trailers it...

1984 "Stubby McFly" Pickup; I believe that this rig belonged to @MikieSwartz at one point, but it seems to have been sold to a new owner. I got a few pics of it at prior Carlisle shows, but this is the first time that I have been able to get this up close and personal with it!

I have no idea why this truck became "Stubby McFly" but I'm guessing that it got damage, someone tried to create a highly maneuverable trail rig, or a combination of the two; 1984 holds the distinction of being the last year that electronic fuel injection wasn't available on these trucks, though I do believe that a carbureted 4-banger may have been standard on no-frills Toyota pickups into the early 1990s; 1985 Toyota 4x4 pickups are particularly sought after because 1985 was the last year for solid axles, and thus the only year you could get EFI and legit solid axles, so 1984 would also have solid axles!

Stubby McFly is a very basic truck, with no A/C and almost no other options; I have only seen one Toyota pickup of this generation with power windows and locks, and that ironically was a 1985 "Marty McFly" tribute at a car show in New Jersey back in 2022, but a decent number of them do have A/C at a bare minimum...
