I took a week off of any major activity. It was a few years ago during the winter and I was still behind a desk. I walk every morning with 2 friends. I kind of powered through it for a first few blocks and then it went away some. I’m serious about those dr scholls. It wasn’t until I used them in every shoe that it went away. I would say it was better 4 weeks after using the new inner soles.

    Morning all:

:annoyed: Went to check if the blower fan works for the coal stove, it makes a humming noise and that's all, it worked last year, turned it off and now it won't turn on. Only 4 bolts hold it on, but it's a PITB to get at them to remove them, already need to "find" one nut and a washer that went somewhere!
Once removed I will take it to a local electric repair shop that fixed it quite a while ago and I was satisfied with their work.
Back at it, only 1 bolt left to remove and I need to finagle a 7/16" wrench in an awkward way onto the back of it, usually drop the wrench at least a couple times in the process then need to find it and fish it out.

I sure appreciate all the comments and suggestions about the plantar fasciitis everybody. We all have issues and this one is getting to me. I've never been so stove up that I can't get out to walk and it's the pits.

I got a set of inserts from Corpsman at MCRD back in the 90's and still wear them. They're made out of some sort or hard nylon/plastic material. Never seen a set like this before and never seen another set again.

Many years ago I got a set of orthotics (hard). They were replaced by a set more flexible. I have to have them replaced every few years. "Planned Obsolescence".

After a number of years with achilles tendon issues and sore arches, not to mention many pairs of shoes trying to solve my issue. I finally went to see a Podiatrist. He X-Ray'd my feet and ankles and prescribed me shoe inserts to support my foot arch. I wear them in all my shoes now. No more hobbling around for me!

Foot pain is bad and frustrating. At least you don’t have Charcot Foot. My sister in law has let herself go. She is well into the 400 club. It has put her in a wheelchair for the past few years. They injected some resin stuff to hold her bones together but it didn’t work. She is thinking about having her feet amputated due to pain. She never considers losing weight.

not gonna like that one @knayrb !

Getting like Oprah around here! "You get a fire, you get a fire....." Saw it this morning on errands, and was amazed not to be run over by responders. Started as an 18 wheeler on fire on 130. Minimum news around here all day except social media. 300 acres now, 40%. Its about 5 miles as the crow flies. A mile away at the car wash, you could not see across the street. Here, you can't see it. Busy helicopters....

Podiatrist told me to flex/bend foot several times, multiple times a day, roll foot on a tennis ball, or cold water bottle and these would help it heal.

There were months of painful foot dog walks. Finally went away after getting some Sketchers go walk shoes and using the arch sleeves and thankfully haven't had an issue for about 6 years now. Can't find those shoes now, so wear Kuru's.

Have never heard of that.  for her

Yeah, that's what I was told. He said it might take up to a year to heal. I tried the strategies once and decided they were unlikely to do anything except extend healing times. Especially the stretching.

The doc also said that if it wasn't healing they had other, more invasive procedures to use. I'm reading that as expensive and something they would like to do to make money. I'm insured, so I think they see that as no harm, no foul.

So I'm two months in and the foot feels pretty good compared to when I began babying it. Scale of one to ten, maybe a two unless I step wrong. Even then not terrible. It's noticeably healing.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not. I have a pretty good track record weeding out the bull**it when money is involved.

You have to move the muscles. Plain and simple. It's why everyone LOVES P.T. Maybe not as much as he wants, but I'd sure work it in if my feets were in your shoes!
